Southern Indiana
No game thread and it's almost halftime. Falcons had been leading by 4-6 points, but are now shooting somewhere sub 25 percent for the game and they're losing by 7. It's ugly. BG keeps trying to beat the zone by going inside or shooting 3's. When they take it inside, they either get it blocked, turn it over or miss. Ugly, Ugly, Ugly.

I think the main issue this team is going to have is poor shooting. We aren’t a great shooting team. Our opponents go zone and just dare us to shoot. We have a much better roster overall but nobody who’s going to light it up from 3.

...well, some things are better left unsaid.

Re: Southern Indiana
This has been a hideous display of basketball. This team can not shoot and has zero clue how to attack a zone in anything other than NBA range 3s.
This SIU team is awful.
I've been watching since the opening tip but didn't see a thread so figured nobody else gave a damn.

This is a really bad team we are struggling to beat.
Re: Southern Indiana
I don’t understand intentionally fouling
Re: Southern Indiana
Got lucky there but a win is a win. This team has to figure out how to shoot a basketball.

Re: Southern Indiana
Only got the box score to go by. But our best shooter and best scorer went 3-23 combined and we won. Can you see any Huger team doing that in any game, ever?
The offensive futility would have led to no effort and dumbads fouls and a 30 point beat down.
I watched Western do that to us last year.
This team might have looked horrible on offense, but they still WON the darn game. That definitely matters

Re: Southern Indiana
You're not wrong to applaud the continued effort despite playing so poorly. In the first half we couldn't score and still held a lead for awhile due to not allowing a basket for ten minutes.
I think a lot of that was simply the way siu played, but still. I'll take the win, but that's a game against a bad team.

Re: Southern Indiana
Our guys are still learning how to play team bball with one another. We have one of the newest rosters in the country.
That was a miserable basketball team that we struggled to beat. On the surface, it would seem that we are a bad shooting team. We are not, we have good shooters who haven't been making baskets.
The offensive flow isn't there yet. There a timing and synchronization that that experienced, cohesive teams habe that we do not. It the timing of the cuts, passes, readiness to get the ball, etc that is out of sync. Our guys aren't anticipating each other yet. The result of this lack of timing amd sync is that guys aren't getting clean shots in the offense. Guys aren't getting their feet set. They haven't yet learned to trust each other in knowing who going to do what and when.
All of this is natural. I'm optimistic that these things will come. Expecting otherwise from a roster this new is unrealistic.

Re: Southern Indiana
This is the first I've seen of Thomas. He has a clean floor game amd seems to make good decisions.
We need to move Hill to 2G and have Smith or Thomas on the floor at all times. Hill is am excellent player, but he's not the type of distributor that this new roster needs.

Didn't watch the game but I'm happy we pulled out a win on the road in a game we struggled to shoot. We're 5-3 and have won 3 straight. Clearly the team has plenty of improvements to make and we have a few more games to do so before the Mac
