Kansas City

There's a game tomorrow. It's against Kansas City.

Mostly, I just thought it would be fun to start a new topic. And it was!

We're planning to hit this one up. I expect an easy win and will be disappointed in anything else. But we haven't been to a game in awhile, and we traded in the tickets for the weekday games so this is the only one in December for us, I think.

Eric's posted on social that they have eggnog milkshakes so that will make a good pre or post game snack.

And it's Christmas light season after, so that's fun too!

In the words of Wilbert Harrison:

Goin' to Kansas City
Kansas City, here I come
Goin' to Kansas City
Kansas City, here I come
They got some crazy little women there
And I'm gonna get me one

Hill has 20 with lots of time left in the half.

Anybody know when the last time someone got 40 for us was?

I’m gonna guess Samarco. He had to have a 40-spot in there.

Kind of a sloppy second half we couldn't really ever put it away but got the win.

I'm a bit concerned about our depth. Going to be hard sleeping in the MAC if we can't go more than 7 guys.

Hamburger, I thought it showed in the 2nd half as we were a half a step slower on O and D

Agree 100% -- I never felt like we were in danger of losing, but kept looking at the scoreboard & thinking we should be ahead by more.

Gotta say, though, I never thought we'd be 7-3 after 10 games. And, as great of a human being as he is, there's no way we'd be 7-3 if Huger was still our coach. I'm impressed with what Simon has done so far, in what I assumed would be a throwaway year.

100%

That team had zero answers for Hill or Spurgin but they both played over 35 mins. Hill was no longer able to attack and Spurgin could barely get up and down the court by the end.

I never thought we were going to lose but it was noticeable we were just trying to get to the final buzzer.

It definitely seems like a Simon thing. At SUU they really only went 7-8 deep too in terms of regular playing time. It's definitely preferable to the playing random walkons for 5-6 minutes every game.

It's probably only really an issue with Towns hurt but I don't know what we can do since we don't really have another big. Clearly nobody thinks Felt can play since he's never seen the court.

Hopefully this can be a confidence booster for PJ Edwards. He played well and will be a key player if Towns is down for extended time.

I am hoping Simon is tightening the rotation and using the non-conference schedule to build game stamina for MAC play. The inconsistent rotations from the previous regime was flat out stupid.

The lineup with 4 guards around a big was kind of fun to watch against UMKC. If this team can get to 35% - 40% from the 3 point line they can beat a lot of really good teams. They take a lot of good shots. They just need them to start falling.
