As for watching this team I definitely get the disconnect feeling. Also hurts that the schedule has been such that we have only attended a single game in the entire month of December. I think it'll start to get a lot more connected when we get to MAC play and start playing consistently 2x a week.

I do think we're going to be in for a rude awakening in MAC play. I don't think we're going to be real good, but I hope I'm wrong.

I will say Marcus Hill has already become one of my favorite players in recent memory. He's a walking bucket and finishes at the rim better than any guard we've had here since maybe Ron Lewis. I tend to agree with the aforementioned...we do ok offensively against man but struggle a bit against zone. I just don't think we're a good shooting team...at ALL.

Greer is in now?
Simon is the opposite of Huger in that regard. He's REALLY pared down the rotation to only 7 real guys. Probably would be 8 if Towns could walk. McComb and Greer have just not found their way into that rotation much.

I like relying on our best players more rather than throwing random players and lineups in the game every time they struggle, but I think it's going to bite us against deeper teams in MAC play. MAC play can be a slog, and we're leaning pretty heavily on these 7 guys.

They should do a dunk contest for the kids after the game.

I don't think Hampton is very good, but nice to not have your best stuff and still get a 10pt win.

And a 10 pt win....We have a lot of work to do before the MAC begins. But nice to be 8-3.

BG wins 75-65.

Solid recovery. Won the 2nd half by like 20.

8-3 on the year.

Dub is a dub. Conference play should reveal just how good this group is, but credit to coach Simon for getting a bunch of guys who mostly didn't play together before this year to at least find ways to win.

I agree but I am not sure why?

Our trio of bigs is the best I can remember.
Hill is a stud.
I complained about Thomas all game and he put up 25. If he matches Hill's energy that backcourt could be special.
Humphrey-Edwards and Phillips are all capable rotational guys on a good team.

I think someone on here indicated that Simon insisted we were actually a good shooting team.

I don't think the talent is outside of good team in the MAC, just need it to come together.

We were picked to be 6th in the MAC and I think that's just about exactly where we stand right now. The talent is there to be a top 4 team, but they just don't seem like they've fully gelled yet. That being said, 8-3 is a pretty solid record for a team that hasn't gelled.

6 wins in a row.

Simon posted on Twitter that a win on Friday afternoon would give us our best record at Christmas (9-3) since 2004.

DJ Smith is in a walking boot and will be in the rotation off the bench also. Hasn't played since Southern Indiana and has played 10 plus minutes in nearly every game. Rotation is deeper than the current form. Towns was playing his best prior to the injury. Shooting leaves a lot to be desired but this team will compete in the MAC.

I don't think this is a game we win the last couple years and I was pretty confident this team could hold on once we got the lead. We continue to find ways to win even if it's not pretty and we suck at shooting

No big games, a somewhat inconsistent schedule, and a non conference that feels more like an extended preseason than ever before hasn't helped the excitement. Like mentioned above once there's 2 mac games every week it should feel more normal. Keep getting better every game and look better each month

I believe Simon said Thomas is still hurting in the post game interview

Conference play will get everyone excited again. I like our chances because we have a balanced roster that can in theory keep the offense going if one person is defended out of the game. I understand the concern about our inconsistent outside shooting. Let's see how it goes in MAC play.
Hopefully Towns is back soon as he will be important in the rotation.
