Losing at the end of the third quarter, hoping they can turn it around, but yuck to be down to them.

Phew!! BG survives for their first conference win. Came back enough in the 4th for the win. Great game from Kohler with 28.

Great defensive effort down the stretch...I think these women are buying into Chmiel as a leader...they do not quit

Definitely a trap game after getting up for 3 straight top 20 teams and then having to play a 1 win team (none against D1 competition). Our bigs got in foul trouble again and Velasco and Sharps went a combined 4 for 21. Was really impressed with McGuff's defense & rebounding and Kohler was amazing. Coach Chmiel is figuring things out. Doesn't matter how many years you've been an assistant, it's still different when you're calling the shots. He'll be fine. He seemed to be subbing his bigs in pairs a lot - Hill/Dziekan together and Ellis/Porter (or Clerkley) together. He also went 11 deep early with Tubergen and Siesel seeing first half action. Quite often you learn more from these type games than you do from blowouts.

When you shoot 32% on the road it's tough to win, regardless of opponent. Glad we were able to steal one here.

40 combined minutes from Ellis and McGuff, getting 10 points and 12 boards between them. Not sure they had 40 combined minutes all season coming in. They are going to get additional chances to develop with Fleming out. Great to see them having a positive impact.

All in, the 3 freshmen scored more than half of our points! This season may be a challenge with Lexi out, but we are still going to compete in the MAC this year and the future looks VERY bright!
