Some talk this morning of Jason Candle being a candidate for the Ohio State OC job.

I actually think it makes sense for Candle. He’s winning a bunch at Toledo, but he’s not in a spot where he’s going to get hired for a HC job because the P4 schools see him winning at a place where he has a built-in resource advantage. So he might have to do the Sean Lewis thing and take a big coordinator job to parlay it into a big HC job.

I don’t think it happens, but it would be intriguing.

If the money is enough I could see him leaving. Honestly think his opportunity for a P4 job passed him by this year in losing the MAC championship game.

ESPN reporting that Kalen DeBoer has been chosen as Nick Saban's successor at Alabama.

There was some talk in Detroit that he had reached out to Michigan to indicate he had interest if Harbaugh were to leave.

Bama close to hiring South Alabama HC Kane Wommack

Kane Wommack did indeed resign at South Alabama to take the Alabama DC job. So South Alabama has a HC opening.

Brent Brennan is leaving San Jose State to become Arizona’s next HC, so SJSU now also has an opening.

Brennan is certainly an interesting choice. Has a record almost identical to Loeffler after 5 years, and then levelled out where he went 14-11 the next two seasons. It's basically like Northwestern hiring Loeffler after next year is he goes 7-6 again. I don't see him lasting a super long time in Tuscon.
