“Merrimack transfer OL Nick Reimer announces his commitment to Bowling Green.

A first team all-NEC selection in 2023, Reimer has 36 career starts to his name and chose BGSU over offers from Buffalo, Marshall, Coastal Carolina, and Akron, among others.“

I was hoping we’d get him. He’s big and technically sound. He’ll be a starter right away.

Kinda surprised we didn't get more OL and a RB. Stewart is an all MAC level back, but the injury hx is concerning. That's what was so surprisong about Kieth xferring out. If you're the 2 back here, you're gonna get some carries

We can still add portal guys any time between now and the beginning of fall camp. I’d imagine the current focus is on finding transfers and comparing them to high school guys they could try to sign in February on the “real” signing day. And then a new crop of players will become available after spring football when the spring transfer portal opens and guys at other programs see where they are in the pecking order and potentially are open to moving on. That’s when Loeffler and company can cash in.

I’m certain that we’re not done adding guys.

Justin Eklund just committed to BG out of the portal. Outside linebacker played in 3 games at San Jose State last season.

TE Ocean Brabbs (yes, that's his name) just committed to BG. He's from Pioneer HS in Ann Arbor, MI.

Crazy story in the Blade today that I had not heard before. Lions rookie TE Sam LaPorta was going to sign with BG back in 2018 but got a late offer from Iowa. Put that one alongside Le'veon Bell and Jim Harbaugh in the "one that got away" files.

Abdul-Fatai Ibrahim has committed to Louisiana Tech. To my knowledge, he was out of eligibility, so he must have gotten a waiver to play another year.

Julian Campenni is leaving BG to coach defensive ends at Rutgers, so we will need a new defensive line coach.

This was the guy I was afraid of losing. Was hoping Loeffler would find a way to promote him to keep him because he has been the best D-line coach we've had here in a while.

Unrelated to BG, but Gunnar Gundy (Gun Gun) is already leaving Ohio U after transferring there a few weeks ago.

Deshawn Jones is on the new roster that is posted. I assume that means he withdrew from the portal? That would be a big bonus at CB after losing Huskey and Ferguson. A CB was added in Xander Pratt who was a walk-on at Purdue. There were a pair of kickers added in Travis Kenner and John Henderson. Henderson looks like he kicked at Antelope Valley where he was just 7-13 on FG's and 46-63 on PAT's (that's a very poor mark for PAT's). A couple guys that didn't appear on the roster that I noticed were OL Bronson Warner and WR Trimaine Brown. Warner appeared to have one year left and Brown played in 4 games and redshirted last year as a frosh. Iowa State transfer Hunter Deyo was still missing from this year's roster so his transfer to BG last year looks like it never materialized. Those were a few things that I noticed after looking this roster over.

Gundy is now headed to Alabama.
