BG has lost 4 in a row to Ball State and is coming off conservative MAC loses for the first time this season. Ball State had a terrible start to MAC play (0-4) but has since won 3 of their last 4 and will be at home where they are 8-3 this season. Don’t want to call this a must-win game but a 3rd straight loss in MAC play really starts turning up the pressure. This past week took a lot of wind out of the sails. Another loss here pretty much wipes out the nice start to the conference slate. Gotta get a win and get back at it.
GO BG!!!

Michael Huger has lost 4 consecutive games to Ball St. Bowling Green is coming off consecutive conference losses for the first time all season. No s**t Sherlock. At 5-3 how could it have happened multiple times before? Actually, the entire point of your post was to call it a must win. A “must win” game in the MAC regular season is laughable. Calling a MAC game “must win” for this program who hasn’t been to Cleveland in years even more dumb.

Speaking of pressure, Jeff Boals must be feeling it in Athens for underachieving so far this season. Ohio has “must wins” on Tuesday and Saturday to get over .500 for a team picked to contend in the MAC. Did you know Ohio is just 3-8 vs Bowling Green in Bowling Green in the last 11? That includes 6 losses to fired basketball coaches Louis Orr and Michael Huger. Ohio should study the tape of any of about 6 MAC teams that have dominated Michael Huger over the years to see how it’s done. It was a clinic for everyone but Ohio.

The idea of a loss taking BGSU basketball to 14-7 and 5-4 in the MAC "turning up the pressure" makes me laugh. A school that gave coaches double secret contract extensions. A school that trotted Isaac Elsasser out onto the court in a MAC tournament game. A school that didn't take itself serious until it fired Moosbrugger (paid him 150K and is still giving his kid free school). Pressure on this basketball coach and this basketball program? If anything last week helped simmer down some of the momentum on other schools interest in Todd Simon.

I'm confident that this was a tough week in an otherwise bright season.

I don't know that this team will win the conference THIS season, but I have no doubt that they are on the path to success in the future with this coaching staff. Sure, there's "pressure" from fans to win because we want to win titles and it gets harder every time we lose, but I don't think anyone thinks it's a win or hit the road type of season for Simon. This stuff takes time - just hopefully not 56 more years.

Statistically speaking it has a less than 1 percent chance of winning the regular season. It was less than 5% before last week.

Statistically speaking it has about a 5 percent chance of winning the MAC Tournament. It was about 7% to 8% percent before last week.

I think history is overrated when we've got a new staff and replaced like 80% of the roster. But still, as a fan, I know not to take BSU for granted.

Muncie is one of the MAC arenas I've never visited, but I actually have to be in Indy for some client stuff tomorrow. Hoping I can escape there in time to loop the game in on my way home.

It is on the way from Indy to BG. I usually make the drive up to Muncie for the game, but can't this year.

You can basically sit anywhere in there. I think it holds around 9-10K. There will probably be 2,000.

Indy has a great craft beer scene. If you ever get a chance to go to Guggmanhaus. Well worth it.

Thanks for the suggestion! Sadly this was a one day trip to the client site which is in scenic Tipton, IN. It doesn't have a great anything scene... Muncie isn't exactly on the way home from here, but it's not really out of the way either. As long as I get my networking changes out of the way I hope to hit the game.

Broadcast team just said he’s not playing.

Wonder how long this absence will be. Tough loss.

For a team with a new coaching staff and 10 new players, and we're 14-6, 5-3 MAC? That is solid. The team plays hard, even on off shooting nights. This is the most exciting BG hoops in years. BSU is no slouch at 11-9, 3-5 MAC.

How many guys do we have coming back next year?

Falcons lead at the half, 33-31. The D has been great....keep it up, fellas.

There's a reason a certain person here is on my block list. I wasn't' signed in and suddenly this place was toxic as hell.

Wow - one person makes a huge difference to the vibe here.

That said, damn no near foul calls in the first half. Anybody who is able to watch, are they simply not calling anything? Or should we have a big advantage in this like we usually do and we are getting screwed?
