vs. Buffalo (2/6)

Post by mbenecke »

Let’s turn the page.

Falcons (15-7, 6-4) host Bulls (2-19, 1-8) on Tuesday night at the Stroh. 7:00pm on ESPN+.

Let’s get back to winning.

UB has won just 2 games all season (only 1 win in the MAC). What more needs to be said other than this has to be a win? The game is at home. Everyone else in the MAC is beating them. BG has dropped 3 of the last 4 (including a pair in OT) and needs to right the ship. There isn't a better opportunity than this one up next.

I don’t want to call anything a must-win, but this is one we absolutely should win, and I would be worried if we didn’t.

Hate jinxing stuff. Hate overlooking opponents. But come on now, no excuses. Gotta win this one.

Wish I didn't have the feeling like this is going to be a debacle. Hope I'm wrong. Would love to throttle this team by a couple dozen to exercise some past demons.

Buffalo only has 1 division 1 win this year. It would be nice to have this game over with 10 minutes left and allow us to empty the bench a few minutes early

Oddly, that lone D1 win this year is against Central, at Central.

That has turned out to be a quality win.

So we 100% cannot afford to take them lightly, regardless of their struggles.

That was a mostly awful half of basketball. Happy we finished on a nice run to lead 34-26 at half. UB plays a zone where seemingly every zone of the court is open and available.

Oh and we still can't shoot.

We are a bit shorthanded with no towns or Phillip

Not a great half but we finish on an 8-0 run to be up 34-26. I think if we hit a few more shots we'll be in real good shape. Lot of our baskets are dunks after beating the zone

Shooting poorly but still up 8 at the half. I'll take it. At this point, I'm not sure why we even shoot threes unless they are wide open. The cuts to the basket seem to be much more effective.

Agee is easily the most dominant inside presence we've had since Holmes. He's going to make a good living playing ball in Europe.

Attended more games than any responsible student should have.

That's a low bar. You could say the same about the falconettes

Triple from Greer and BG leads by 17 halfway through the 2nd half.

Brought the ball up, zinged a pass into a narrow spot for a Spurgin dunk. ran the court on the break and got rewarded with the ball for a layup. Set up in the corner as he should and got the wide open three - and canned it.

IN the space of about 30 seconds.

He can disappear for 10 minutes and then do stuff like this. These flashes suggest something special in the future.

Playing much better now. You could see it was there the first half but we couldn't put it together

Greer is making great passes and unlike last game got the corner three to fall
