We are 3 possessions away from being 10-3 in the MAC.
We have had a lead in the 2nd half against every single team in the conference this year, and thus it's not unreasonable to think that we are capable of beating any team in the MAC.
I'd say we're far beyond where we were last year.

It's refreshing to see everyone be understanding and see the improvement even though recent results have been rough. Our team has 9 transfers and we knew they wouldn't all meet expectations. We have some talented players, we're generating open shots, and this team always play hard. I believe in Simon and his system and look forward to what he's going to build here even if I have to be patient (or try to be)

This team plays hard even when the shots aren't falling. For a team with so many new faces and a new coaching staff, 16-10, 7-6 MAC isn't bad at all. Last couple weeks have been frustrating but we are in much better shape than with Huger. Make the tourney and get hot...we have the type of team other teams will not want to play in the post season.

Re: @ Central Michigan (2/20)
A bunch of our guys had really solid 3pt shooting statistics in prior seasons. Edwards, Hill, Thomas, Humphrey's all had strong 3pt %s. It's barely plausible, imo, to think it's a skill issue with all of these guys having giant drops this season.guest44 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 21, 2024 1:05 pmI would think a 5 game sample size this poor is mostly psychological. Sooner than later they will drop even if it isn’t at some 40% mark. This is not a good shooting team, and Humphrey was one of the better shooters before disappearing recently. The challenge is that when nobody makes a shot it makes everything Agee and Hill do that much harder. They need to force things and get to the line because if not games like last night and Eastern become 20 point blowouts. The only time I questioned the battle in this team was Louisiana, but that game was truly pointless. Even at Eastern Michigan, they had fight in a lifeless arena playing like crap.BleedOrange wrote: ↑Wed Feb 21, 2024 12:38 pm Our primary problem is outside shooting. How much is it is psychological versus skill? Can the psychology change? Can Simon do something different with the offense?

Kaden Metheny could be used this year on this team. He’s averaging 13 ppg and is shooting 41% from three point range playing at Liberty University.

He chose to leave. I'd be shocked if Liberty hasn't also gotten much worse defensively,OSUFALCON wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2024 1:23 am [quote=guest44 post_id=460130 time=1708705809 user_id=909]

Yes know left on his own. His defense wold have been better under this coach or he wouldn’t have played.

That’s a very fair point.

If we are picking old players then you have to pick Caleb Fields. He’s averaging 16 a game, shooting over 40% from 3 and obviously we remember his defense.
