Re: 2024 Schedule
I still can't believe they went through the entire hassle of figuring out the pod concept just to throw it out the window after one season. I mean, can you add a 13th team and maintain these pods? Was adding UMass worth getting rid of this schedule? I doubt it, but what do I know?
I think they should look to add two additional teams to have 15 and keep the pod concept. They could do 5 pods of 3 and work out a very similar schedule concept. I would propose we add WKU and either Temple or UConn (why not add in another former football only member or another independent). Or, we could go full-in and offer up that Notre Dame join us instead of being independent

No reason why 8-9 wins can't happen this year. Very favorable schedule.

Lose to Penn State and A&M, and probably split with Miami/Toledo. That's gotta be the goal, and it should be good enough to get us back to Detroit.jpfalcon09 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2024 4:48 pm No reason why 8-9 wins can't happen this year. Very favorable schedule.

Re: 2024 Schedule
No back to back road games without an extended break, Miami last, Akron first, and only two maction games. Absolutely no excuses with this schedule.
As a fan I wish we had more than 3 home Saturday games. I remember we had a pretty good crowd in 13 with tulsa on an opening Friday so hopefully that holds true with Fordham. Miami is at least a holiday even if there are no students and it's better than Tuesday Wednesday that week

For sure. Last year they had a tailor made sked and still didn't win the MAC. They didn't even win the East. 1968 and counting....Falconfreak90 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 11, 2024 9:07 pmAnd they still won’t win the MAC. Ohio, WMU and EMU are the only schools that will face all three of the Akron, Kent State and Buffalo pod (probably the weakest of the four pods). WMU also avoids Toledo, Ohio and Miami. I’d say WMU has the easiest MAC schedule on paper based on all of that.

Who wins it first: BG a title in basketball and a trip to the NCAA...or Ohio winning a MAC title in football? 1968 is an anchor on both programs.

Awesome....
However, "Starting for the 2024 season, Doyt Perry Stadium will be a CASHLESS venue, including parking, concessions, and tickets". That sucks. Cash is king....

Re: 2024 Schedule
That would make the 50/50 a little awkward to have to take out your card and swipe it to buy a $1 ticket. No, thanks.
I understand where they are going with the whole cashless thing and I don't like it one bit but it's inevitable. I pay cash for everything possible. It's sad how often 20 somethings can't make change. If they can actually count the money you hand them, then they can punch it into the register and it'll tell them how much to give back, but the problem I've witnessed first hand a number of times is that they are unable to count how much money you gave them or count out the change to the correct total. Just recently I was at a department store making some purchases. My total came up to $44.57. I handed the kid 3 $20 bills. He literally looked at me and asked me how much I had handed him. I provided him the answer, which he entered into the register, then I had to tell him what to pull out to make correct change. That wasn't an isolated event.

Do they still do the 50/50? They stopped at the hockey games, despite a majority of the pots going over $1,000. They were doing it digitally, still accepting cash though. Tickets were graduated up to $20 worth. They accepted cash or card. It was geared towards getting you still spend the $20.
