Deshawn Jones is on the new roster that is posted. I assume that means he withdrew from the portal?

His HS Principal goes to our church and we greet together on Sundays. Jones is back as the only offers he got in the portal were Akron and Rhode Island. His best bet was to stick with BG.

His twitter activity tells me he still has one eye on the door. Following and liking a lot of other DB coaches at different schools around the country. I think as soon as he gets a "better" offer, he'll be gone.

Thanks for the info from both of you. I'm glad he's back on the roster as I think he's a solid player and I'd like to see him back. But yeah, his twitter activity would make it seem just as you said. I guess we'll see what happens after the next portal window.

Dangerously low on OL for Spring game again though. I count 15 overall, which isn't bad but I think just 12 for the Spring.

Interestingly, the football team's twitter account posted a photo from practice yesterday or this morning, and the team is practicing in the game jerseys that we used from 2015-2018.

And it got me to thinking... we've had this current jersey set for 5 years now. They would be entering year 6 this fall. Is it possible we could be looking at new uniforms again this season?

As I mentioned above, the previous look lasted 4 seasons, and the look before that lasted just 3. So... it makes me wonder.

Julian Campenni is leaving BG to coach defensive ends at Rutgers, so we will need a new defensive line coach.

BG hired Cornell Brown as their new defensive line coach.

Spent the 2023 season coaching LBs for the USFL’s New Orleans Breakers.

Coached in NFL Europe, in college at Virginia Tech, Norfolk State (co-DC), and Marshall, and in the USFL.

Was an All-American as a linebacker at Virginia Tech, and won Super Bowl 35 as a player with the Ravens. Turns 49 year old on Friday.

Was the spring game today? Did anyone know/go?

I have no idea if there was any kind of 'game', but I did see on the news that Spring practice concluded on Saturday. Out top two QBs didn't practice all Spring due to injuries.

The spring portal window opens today, and with that we are going to lose some guys - just like everywhere else in the country. No reason to panic, this is just how things are now.

With that, WR Tae'shaun Johnson is entering his name into the transfer portal.

LB Diego Neri and DB Canaan Williams are also in the portal from BG after announcing their intention to enter it previously.
