The portal.,one and dones and Overtime Elite....college basketball is really hurting. As an old head...I'm glad I got to experience the glory years.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Re: MAC Transfer Portal
The sport has become difficult to follow on a conference level, let alone on any form of a national level. it takes months into the season to figure out who is on what team, and by the time you do, portal season happens again.
Re: MAC Transfer Portal
Tons of activity in the portal today. Namely in the MAC, Jalin Anderson hit the portal for Ball State, while Payton Sparks is transferring back to Ball State after a year at Indiana.
Lots of guys I'm guessing Simon is going to be reaching out to hit today, too. A few I'd keep an eye on are Elijah Fisher from Depaul (6'6" SG with good ballhandling skills), Conor Enright from Drake (6'0" PG who is a great passer and shot 43% from 3pt), and Franck Emmou from UMBC (6'5" PG who shot 45% from 3pt but never broke the starting lineup for some reason).

Re: MAC Transfer Portal
With the smaller roster sizes in hoops, this is like the wild west. Can't build programs any longer, especially at the mid-major level. Bring in new faces and hope things gel then rinse and repeat.
The longer the walk, the farther you crawl.

Maddox from Toledo to the portal
Re: MAC Transfer Portal
PJ Edwards in the portal.
Re: MAC Transfer Portal
This makes sense. I liked him but it felt like he never got his place established.

Re: MAC Transfer Portal
Agreed. Couldn't quite figure him out. Seemed like a guy who never hurt you when he was on the floor so maybe deserved more minutes, but didn't really have a true position either.
LONG LIVE THE MONGOOSE!!
Re: MAC Transfer Portal
Not a huge surprise. Would be nice if he came back. I also see some positives if he doesn’t. Our offense at times stood around and watched him shoot. Don’t get me wrong Marcus could create like no one else on the team. He also would get his points going 8-24 from the field on occasion.
Re: MAC Transfer Portal
If he returns and improves his jump shot, he has a legit shot at being MAC POY. He may get some $$ from a power 5 school, but I can't see him in a role other than "the guy", and I don't think he can do that in a P5 conference. More power to him if he can get the bag, though.
If we are fortunate enough to get both him and Agee back, it gives us two bona fide 1st team all MAC players, which is the formula for winning the league. All we can do is wait and see at this point.
