Brutal man, just brutal. I honestly can’t stand college athletics much anymore because of this stuff.
MAC Transfer Portal
Re: MAC Transfer Portal
GO BG!!!
Re: MAC Transfer Portal
I feel the same way. Building a team and program at this level is basic dead and over with. You must win NOW when you’re good because trying to run it back next season isn’t likely going to be an option.
GO BG!!!
Re: MAC Transfer Portal
Exactly. We’re asked and somewhat expected to donate money, but tickets, attend games, etc., and to come out and support these guys. And for what? To see them wipe their feet on my school as they walk out the door? What is the incentive to support and contribute to a product like that (unless you just have money you can piss away for the hell of it)?
GO BG!!!
Re: MAC Transfer Portal
BG is probably the favorite to win the MAC with both of them. But I wouldn’t hold my breath hoping to see either return. If they wanted to be here, they wouldn’t be in the portal.
GO BG!!!
Re: MAC Transfer Portal
Not true. Even Coach Simon has said he knows players have to explore their options and that part of the gig is re-recruiting every year now. Just because they enter the portal doesn't mean they don't want to be here, but when you see that Tyson Acuff from EMU is asking for $200k a year from schools, Hill and Agee would be stupid not to see what is out there.
Bottom line, if BG wants to be competitive moving forward, we have to have a more robust NIL pot of money. I encourage all of you to start giving, even if it's 5-10 bucks a month. It'll add up and it might land us that one player who takes us over the edge.

Attended more games than any responsible student should have.

The longer the walk, the farther you crawl.
Re: MAC Transfer Portal
Hill has a company representing him and that company was making calls back in February. It is what it is. However, I'd argue Hill's value in Bowling Green would come from being here long enough for the general public to know who you are. That wasn't or isn't ever going to happen in 8 months. Not with a basketball program that put you to sleep since the Stroh opened.
Re: MAC Transfer Portal
Anthony Pritchard CMU in the portal. That’s pretty much every player of significance for them in the portal.
Re: MAC Transfer Portal
Are there any of the 3 all mac team players that have eligibility left that are not in the transfer portal? Hate the reality of this transfer era for the sport, conference, and ourselves. There's no attachment to the school or community they just wear the jersey. I can't blame the players for following the money but it's not the same from a fan perspective. Not even sure if I should donate to the falcon club or nil fund at this point.
Also Marcus Hill is getting a good amount of attention as expected.

Re: MAC Transfer Portal
I will say though I'm excited to have Simon staying because he did a great job building through the portal at Southern Utah so hopefully it works out in our favor
Re: MAC Transfer Portal
Both are important, but I know for a fact that the coaches are begging for more NIL money. I’ve started giving $20 a month to The Ziggy Collective, which is about what I give to Falcon Club. Not much, but there needs to be strength in numbers for a program like BG in order to move the needle.

Does seem like all the All-MAC group are going but no there are three players of the 15 (5 are graduating) who have not entered the portal. Second teamer Jihad from Ball State and Third teamers AJ Clayton - Ohio and David Coit from N. Illinois.fanatic13 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 31, 2024 2:20 pm Are there any of the 3 all mac team players that have eligibility left that are not in the transfer portal? Re: MAC Transfer Portal
Would it be wrong the entire MAC to band together and vote for only walk-ons or graduating seniors for these awards? "You want to transfer? Okay, but you didn't win any awards for your time here."fredthefalcon wrote: ↑Mon Apr 01, 2024 8:17 amDoes seem like all the All-MAC group are going but no there are three players of the 15 (5 are graduating) who have not entered the portal. I'm just being cynical, I know. I'm just irritated that I'm rooting for another team like the Browns or Indians.
ROLL ALONG!!!
Re: MAC Transfer Portal
You can scratch Coit from that list as he has now entered the portal as well.fredthefalcon wrote: ↑Mon Apr 01, 2024 8:17 amDoes seem like all the All-MAC group are going but no there are three players of the 15 (5 are graduating) who have not entered the portal.
