Wilguens-jr Exacte. Defensive specialist, can guard all 5 positions at 6'6" 236 lbs. Should be a big impact in the MAC and on top of that makes everyone better in practice. 3 years of eligibility left.

Jeff Goodman tweeted this one out so helooks to be a pretty big get for us!

From Canada, Former 3 star recruit that's legit on some NBA radars as a long term prospect, and played for NBA Academy. Was starting for Utah by the end of his freshman year (22-23) before taking a medical redshirt last year. HUGE get here!!

Simon has been after him since he entered the portal. Big time athlete. Potential to be a great shooter as well. The roster is already better than last year and they are not done. Another player BG reached out to is Cal transfer ND Okafor. He is another former NBA Academy guy like Exacte was.

We don’t get guys that look like that guy very often. I’m getting pretty optimistic about next year.

Simon seems to be putting together one helluva roster with some nice transfer and juco talent coming in via the portal. I honestly don't see how either of the early signees (the big kid or Pardon) get much run at all in this group. But I guess get into practice and compete to see what happens.

I will say this about Squire he is a legit 6’10” or 6’11”. If he shoots it like they say he can, I’d imagine he can find the floor. Especially against zone defenses. One thing we’ve learned is injuries will happen, so load up the roster with as many options as possible.

Exacte is...as they used to say..a grown assed man. Gonna be a problem for MAC schools to contend with that level of skill and strength

One thing I learned recently is that foreign athletes are ineligible for NIL. May be a factor in acquiring talent like Trey Thomas, the Spurgins, Exacte. and Khayat. Evens up the competition a little bit.

His tape shows a 3 and D guy but with his size and strength if he can finish at the rim I can see some Nate Miller drive and finish ability. A lot of the time he’s gonna be the 3rd tallest guy on the floor and will have smaller guys guarding him.

You're absolutely correct and you're onto something here. Their student visas dont allow them to "work". CMU just signed a couple of dudes from overseas as well. Could be the path forward from the MAC. Our proximity to Canada could be a nice advantage.

I don't know if this is true...F Great Osobor (from England) is transferring to Washington from Utah State and he's picking up $2.1 mil in NSD for doing it

I think it depends on the country they're from, the way their visas work, etc.

I don't know if they are completely ineligible for NIL, but I know it definitely is limited in some way. Zach Edey (played for Purdue, from Canada) talked about losing out on NIL opportunities because of that stuff.

Here's a January article that talked about the problems with NIL and foreign athletes. Apparently there are also loopholes the chief one being the athlete leaves the country and participates in NIL deals in the foreign country (whatever that means) and then returns to the US with a foreign NIL though I assume it is likely the same NIL that was offered here.
