Re: Offseason 2024
Our schedule just dropped. Open on the road at Mercyhurst then away/home with Western. Series with RIT is split between Oct (away) and 12/29 (home). Home and home with the Buckeyes. We have only 2 home games the month of October. Three trips to Minnesota this year. No trip to Houghton. Mavs don't make a visit to the Slate. 17 home games.

First, gotta say I'm just excited to turn the page to the new season. Cannot wait for Falcon hockey.
Now for some bitching:
Not in love with the specific dates on this schedule. Tech home series over Thanksgiving Break, so no students or band. NMU home series is at the end of exam week, so likely no students or band. Bemidji home series is the weekend before spring semester starts, so likely no students or band. First round playoff series over spring break, so no students or band. That all really sucks.

Re: Offseason 2024
I'd go 4 for 2.... Mankato, Augie, Bemidji, and the Tommies for the return of Western and Miami. Not taking Miami without Western.

Re: Offseason 2024
That would leave the CCHA with... BG, Tech, NMU, LSSU, Ferris, Miami, WMU. That's 7 teams, though it's a marvelous conference geographically.pdt1081 wrote: ↑Wed May 15, 2024 11:34 amI'd go 4 for 2.... Feels like we would want an 8th member.

Western MIchigan has no desire to leave the NCHC so this plan is a moot point.pdt1081 wrote: ↑Wed May 15, 2024 11:34 amI'd go 4 for 2.... Mankato, Augie, Bemidji, and the Tommies for the return of Western and Miami. Not taking Miami without Western.

Re: Offseason 2024
Western and Miami ain't moving and our League just got weaker.
We may actually be better off in going independent like the Alaska's did. They split against decent competition you end up in a better situation then us splitting or even sweeping because of competition level.

Um, yeah. That was said tongue in cheek.Hockey John wrote: ↑Wed May 15, 2024 12:37 pm

Reality is, Alaska or Lindenwood would make the most sense. Both would suck as far as league dynamics and travel goes.

IF, B1G IF, the Summit League decides to sponsor hockey, I could see the MAC trying to respond in kind. That's the only way I see it happening.unfalconbelievable wrote: ↑Wed May 15, 2024 12:54 pm Western and Miami ain't moving and our League just got weaker.
