With O'Malley off the list we don't have any freshmen defensemen this season. Tomorrow is a happy hour with Willy at Juniper. Great opportunity to get the complete roster.

As for the assistant coaches, I assume Maas is still out there and available should the need arise next season?
There's an unknown wild-card in the 32 number....... not sure his status for his senior year. With his position, I imagine he's still OK, but it may be awkward to keep him.

Was just pondering what senior night might look like next year for him...

Went to the meet-and-greet tonight. it was a really neat event. All the coaches were there except for Schoen. Scooter was there along with DVDM and a lot of the athletic dept staffers. Got to talk to lots of folks.

One thing that popped out, Stavros mentioned there were schools after Moore and O’Hara. This is despite the fact they weren’t actively seeking a portal move. It’s a testament to the staff and how tight the team is that no one moved on. He said there were some schools that did not reach out to our guys because of relationships with the staff (a B1G team was mentioned) but some that didn’t give a crap (other B1G and some Nacho schools). There is no honor among thieves or college hockey coaches.

They’re looking at filling the suites and club section. Mixed response from a couple staffers on whether it’ll be 100%, but it’s looking pretty decent.

The WMU series dates are FUBARed. Couldn’t tell if it was because of us or them, but it seems like an honest screwup. Not sure when/if that series takes place or if we try to schedule another team that weekend. Too bad as that was supposed to be the grand opening of the new suites.

Can you expand on the WMU series?

On bgsufalcons.com, the series is shown on the graphic, but is not on the schedule link.

Openly recruiting of non-portal players if I'm not mistaken is an NCAA violations. Why is this being swept under the rug and not reported? NCAA won't do anything to bigger, more successful programs........

Western is scheduled to play both BG and Ferris that weekend. Looks like the Ferris series will take place with our series TBD.

Because it's not "official" university recruiting. It's all done 3rd party, with no official link to any schools. Everything is done through agents and advisors, friends of friends, etc. The players don't actually talk to other schools until they're in the portal, but they know all the details on where they're going before they jump in. Players can enter the portal with a "do not contact" tag.

I found this graphic interesting. We're right in the middle.

They took a step back this year...Matty Beniers had a sophomore slump and Shane Wright has been a touch disappointing for a #4 pick overall.

Some young talent on hand...nothing comparable to inheriting Syd, Malkin and Fleury though. Hope he does well

Western Michigan is now off the schedule. We'll open the Slate 2.0 against the Buckeyes on Oct 26 (no home games until the end of Oct).

Swankler just changed one of his social media profiles from Chatham to Professional Hockey Player. I assume he's signed somewhere but nothing official.

Either that or he got a KILLER NIL package at Chatham.

With all that pro money, he can get as many shoes as he wants.

This may not be finalized yet. Sounds like Colorado College has been trying to get out of a trip to Munn this season.
