Softball Ends 2nd Straight Disastrous Season

I still think a change is coming. She might have only been given a two year contract initially and it's possible it runs through May. It was a hire made by you know who, so it could be an odd situation.

I was wrong. Given DVDM's other coaching moves since he got here, I thought maybe Coach Fenton-Bockbrader was safe since a change wasn't made immediately after the season ended. That's all I got. Just came here to admit that I was wrong.

That’s now four coaches who’ve been removed since Moosbrugger was fired less than 2 years ago. A truly historic run of incompetence that could very well still be going if Holy Cross doesn’t come to the rescue to take Kit Hughes away.

Looks likely that none of the support Softball staff will be retained either. Current roster has deleted all coaches now, only showing players.

Michelle Gardner hired as the new softball head coach. She played at Michigan and was the Big Ten Player of the Year. She started her coaching career as an assistant here at BG in 92-93. Was an assistant at Arizona State and Florida State, including reaching the Women’s College World Series. Hall of Fame head coaching career at Nevada. Spent 9 years as the head coach at Indiana in the Big Ten. Comes over after spending the last few years as the associate head coach for a couple of 30-win seasons at Coastal Carolina. Also previously served as the pitching coach for Israel’s national team.

This is an awesome hire.

Great hire! I knew Mikey, when she was here with Jacquie Joseph. Looking forward to connecting with softball again, that I haven’t paid much attention to for 20 years.
