2024-25 Schedule

Post by BillyLP »

Full schedule came out today and it's a good one. Playing on the road at WVU and Ohio State, Xavier and Marquette at home with a few other solid non-con games, as well. Love to see this kind of schedule.

Attended more games than any responsible student should have.

Games announced in the Daytona Beach Thanksgiving Tourney. BG plays Utah State (5-25 last year) and Arkansas. Again adding up to a challenging away schedule probably less so than 23-24 but nevertheless something to build on if significant injuries do not again occur.

Hmmm... the link I saw said our opponents were Stetson and Arkansas.

It's very possible this is an outdated graphic, and that we are indeed playing Utah State & not Stetson.

You are probably correct but I did see the Utah State game on the same site. Hard to tell now but I do not recall OSU having a Thursday game like it currently show. May have been an adjustment due to that schedule. Stetson was 17-15 last year so maybe not a good thing although year to year changes due to portal are often hard to predict.

I don't know that it was formally announced, but it appears the Wittenberg at BG game, originally scheduled for Wednesday, 10/30, is going to be on Tuesday, 10/29 at 11:00AM.
All is for the best in this best of all possible worlds.

BG wins 102-47 over Wittenberg. Exhibition and never in doubt but there are some good signs.

Bad news first,
Mcguff and Fleming still recovering from injury. No announced timeframe of a return but both are expected to play according to the announcers.

Good news.
- Kohler and Velasco looked like their normal selves.
- Porter 25 pts. with 9/9 free throws. Vast improvement from the line.
- Donahue started and looked very good. Very aggressive with 5 steals and 10 pts late. More a defender than scorer.
- The non starters outscored them 28-8 in the 4th. Simpson had 11 and Harrison 8, I believe all or almost all in the 4th.
- All eligible players played and scored. Walk-on Wallace hit the 3 to hit 100.

Depth from what I could tell.
1: Kohler, Velasco, Simpson, Wallace
2: Velasco, Siesel, Simpson, Fearne, Wallace
3: Donahue, Fearne, Harrison, Kulackovska
4: Ellis, Gerken, Harrison, Kulackovska
5: Porter. Ellis, Moxey
.
McGuff and Fleming injured
