Curious to find out who is injured. Loeffler made it sound like at his press conference that some key pieces to the lineup will be missing.

Depth chart has a lot of upperclassmen on the two-deep. Obviously subject to change. Thursday is looking warm and muggy.

Fordham game is at 7:00pm on ESPN+ on Thursday night. The athletic department is promoting the game as an “Orange Wave” and asking those in attendance to wear orange.

I know there’s been a good bit of discussion about it on this board, so I’ll post it here:

BG is bringing back the 50/50 raffle. Beginning Thursday and at “select” football, men’s/women’s basketball, hockey, and volleyball games, the 50/50 is returning. All money raised is going to be divided between the Ziggy collective to go to women’s sports NIL, and the Bowling Green youth baseball program in town.

They will have both cash and credit card options. There will be a kiosk in the stadium, as well as hawkers inside the stadium and in the parking lots nearby.

Listened to the coaches show today. Loeffler talked about the depth on the O line. Not sure where the 2-3 injuries are. He mentioned Pabst as someone that will play on Sunday’s. I thought he was solid, but never thought that if him. He said it will be Fannin’s last year with BG. Either transfer or NFL.
Looking forward to the season. Ay Ziggy

To be fair the department was spread thin at the time. Elsasser was split between watching his son play basketball and officiating basketball games for additional income. It was likely a lack of staff to keep the 50/50 raffle going. Maybe they can have the Moosbrugger’s sell the tickets as part of the free tuition?

There was a change in the law on how non-profits can handle raffles. This law came down at roughly the same time we were looking at doing raffles for an organization I was involved in. We had to skip it that year until we could look into the law. Toledo, and some other places, looked into it and found a way to keep the 50/50 by changing internal policies and processes. This, of course, involved utilizing the legal staff at the University to fully understand and interpret the law. BGSU just decided to stop doing the raffle.

If I remember, previously the 50/50 went directly to athletics or somehow supported BGSU in a way that it was an official BGSU thing. Under this new process, BGSU technically isn't the benefactor of the 50/50 and therefore the law no longer impacts BGSU. It's a brilliant setup to support BGSU athletes and the Bowling Green community while being able to say, "It's not us."
ROLL ALONG!!!

It’s the same thought process that has BGSU 3 years behind UT in NIL. It’s easy to do nothing when you have no accountability at the top. Do as little as possible, cash those checks, take as much time as needed until Holy Cross finally called.
