Two great efforts on the road in very hostile environments. Win next week on Homecoming and get ready for MAC play.

Fannin has 25 catches for 349 yards in 3 games.

Did not see the game but listened. Gibby thought we had a TD at the end that was ruled out. Anyone see it and felt the same?

Seemed to me he caught the ball and then hit the ground and the ball came out.
Just like Penn State, just needed a few more plays to get over the hump. Officials def didn't have a good game but we are used to that sheet when playing these teams. We are a VERY solid team with tons of talent.
So proud of this team....let's pack the Doyt for HC as this team deserves a full stadium.

100% agree...jpfalcon09 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 21, 2024 10:16 pm Hose job from the officials. Clear late hit on top of the controversial field goal.

I quit letting sports ruin my days years ago but I feel for the players and coaches on this one. I felt like AM interfered all the time, late hits all the time. BG played clean, an and m did not. Hell the one blatant late hit that my mom who doesn’t know what a first down is could’ve called right, the ref was staring straight at it. That field goal being called good very much changes that game. The sequence at the end is played out differently when you are down 6 instead of 9.
Sure we had missed opportunities but no game is played 100% perfect. Home of the 12th man (ref)

I felt like the coaches got a little too cute in stints. Surprisingly we could hang with them. This is a much improved football team. This should turn out to be a great season.
Re: @ Texas A&M (9/21)
Playing multiple ranked teams to one score games on the road is pretty nuts when you think about where this program was before Loeffler took over. I don’t think anyone can argue that we’re not in a much better place than we were from 2016-2018.
Excited for Homecoming next week. Hoping for a big, loud crowd and a good battle against a sneaky solid ODU team. Looking forward to tailgating next Saturday!

I've pooped on Loeffler as much as anyone...but he's done a good job building this team...he has his flaws like all coaches...the biggest one being the tendency to get too cute with the trick plays inside the 10...but he's recruited well and the team has seemingly bought in 100%, so he deserves a ton of credit for that as well. With the chaos from the transfer portal and NIL...it's been a plus to have the stability of someone being here for five seasons.
The 12th man for A&M last night was the officiating crew. Blew the FG call and that was a TD...WR went to the ground with the ball and contact from the DB knocked it loose.
The MAC looks wide open this year...some big early wins from UT and NIU and we've played two really good teams to a standstill but NIU lost to Buffalo and UT lost to a WKU team that got trucked 63-0 by 'Bama. No one looks head and shoulders above the rest of the conference so far. We have two of the absolute best offensive players in Fannin and Stewart, a pretty good veteran QB and a tough defense. We have everything needed to win the MAC...so why not go win it?

It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Yea being cute when we just changed the momentum was just silly. Honestly I was hoping they would run to the middle of the field on third down and make the kick easy. Tie the game and make them beat you. Oh well it’s over now. Like you say this needs to be the team to get it done. It’s well built with a couple NFL level skill players.Flipper wrote: ↑Sun Sep 22, 2024 11:38 am I've pooped on Loeffler as much as anyone...but he's done a good job building this team...he has his flaws like all coaches...the biggest one being the tendency to get too cute with the trick plays inside the 10...but he's recruited well and the team has seemingly bought in 100%, so he deserves a ton of credit for that as well. I thought live the FG was missed. I thought on replay it was good. I think it was close enough that I couldn't declare it botched call, and I also will say there is no replay on earth that has as good an angle/view of those kicks as the officials under the uprights.
Unless college has a different catch rule than NFL (I'm not certain), our receiver didn't complete the catch through the ground/contact so I didn't think it was a TD.
Regardless, this team is pretty good. Loeffler has done a great job building talent and getting them to buy in. They have built better DL talent than maybe any team we've had here in awhile, that stuff plays against all competition. Now the challenge is very clear and it's something Loeffler's teams have struggled with, so we need to see it this year: Take the intensity/focus that led to staying competitive with these power5 teams, and use it to compete/win MAC games. If they bring that same level to these MAC games they can beat any team in the MAC. We shouldn't be seeing those losses, and blowouts at that, against our competition to win this conference.
I still hate SL's Xs & Os, and that hb pass call was brutal in that time/place, but is what it is. THat game was going to always be a tough one to win. They've proven they can be good enough to win the MAC. Now do it.
