Add current NAHL point leader Maxwell Martin to that list.TalonsUpPuckDown wrote: ↑Wed Jan 03, 2024 4:58 pm Here's how the recruiting class is doing. Doesn't look like any of the incoming forwards are lighting it up goal-wise. Lokkeberg and maybe Kerr are the exceptions but Kerr's an NAHL guy and I'm not sure how those numbers will translate. Kruze was an NAHL guy, so maybe.Code: Select all

Re: Recruit Update
McMahon's blog today featured a blurb about recruiting troubles for CCHA programs in the midwest as most kids are waiting for Big Ten schools to come calling. I think because of this we're going to see more international kids be recruited by BG and the like in the coming years.

Re: Recruit Update
Lake Superior and Northern have been pulling in int'l recruits for a couple of years now. In the last coaches talk Curtis (I think it was Curtis?) mentioned that Swedish kids aren't as lulled by the siren song of NIL money and are receptive to our recruiting message.jpfalcon09 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2024 10:47 am McMahon's blog today featured a blurb about recruiting troubles for CCHA programs in the midwest as most kids are waiting for Big Ten schools to come calling. I assume these kids are also holding out for non-Miami Nacho schools in addition to the B1Gs?

Picked up a commitment from Cam Springer. 06 birth year, so probably two seasons out.

Re: Recruit Update
We got a new recruit, Adam Zlinka. 'Yotes draft pick and WJC Slovakia. Yay? He was formerly a Northeastern commit but apparently that didn't work out (the NU guys are saying he wasn't performing in the USHL - truth or sour grapes?). He's played for 2 USHL teams this year.
The coaching staff appears to be committed to bringing in European players (much like LSSU and NMU) ostensibly because we aren't competing for US/Canadian talent? I'm OK with that as long as it pans out. Truth be told, the entire CCHA is behind the 8 ball in this regard. Hastings/Knott were the only ones who were successful at recruiting the kind of players who also had B1G/Nacho/HE options. In today's world, USNTDP kids and 1st/2nd (even 3rd) round NHL talent have negative interest in any CCHA teams. New world order. Crank up the Ziggy Collective.

Re: Recruit Update
Brady O'Malley is no longer showing up as a BG commit on the Green Bay Gamblers line sheet.

Wonder if that means Leone isn't a candidate here?jpfalcon09 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 17, 2024 12:35 pm Brady O'Malley is no longer showing up as a BG commit on the Green Bay Gamblers line sheet.

I wouldn’t think it would mean that since the first time he was listed without a commitment was a day before the Falcons season was even officially over, but it is a good question.pdt1081 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 18, 2024 10:07 amWonder if that means Leone isn't a candidate here?jpfalcon09 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 17, 2024 12:35 pm Brady O'Malley is no longer showing up as a BG commit on the Green Bay Gamblers line sheet.

Max Martin is an NAHL Star of the Week. The write up mentions he is a BG commit. 97 points in 57 games. Will be huge if the new coach can keep him.

Not surprising to anyone, Max Martin has been nominated for NAHL forward of the year.

We got our first ‘08 commit.
3-star 2008-born recruit Quinn Kipfer has committed to Bowling Green. The forward out of Ontario had 39 points in 30 games for the Huron-Perth Lakers last season and was a 5th round pick of the North Bay Battalion at the 2024 OHL Draft.

Picked up another commit. Camden Balzer from Cleveland, currently with Cowichan in the BCHL. 3/4/7 in 5 games. Not too shabby.
