Held them to 3, Baze got hurt on the next offensive drive, now BG leads 7-6 at the half.

Defense is flying around. Old school slug fest although neither offense has been impressive

Hampton is also a dual threat so difference for our defense

I would never wish an injury on any player but excited to see what Anderson can do.

This looks like the defense we saw against the big boys.

Looks like this will come down to backup QBs and by extension which defense can play better. Hampton had his helmet taken away on the NIU sidelines.

Something does certainly seem off with the offense. They just do not look explosive what so ever since the Texas A&M game

Let’s see what this staff can do to get QB3 (shoutout Orth!) ready for a crucial game in less than 20 minutes in the locker room. Need to script up something special.

It feels like NIU is very mediocre, so we need to win this one. It’s a home game! Against a just okay opponent! Get it done.

Bazelak in the game for the first series, though the commentary team notes that he hobbled onto the field and didn’t look even close to 100%.

So with his already limited mobility, he’ll become even less mobile… alrighty then.

2 yard rush, false start penalty, illegal formation penalty that is declined because the pass was incomplete, then another incomplete pass.

Awesome halftime adjustments, guys!

I take it all back, fake punt works and we’re in business near midfield. We are so back!

But then a Bazelak sack (he can’t move! Nobody can get open!) and a personal foul way after the play. At least it was offsetting, I guess. We should be compensated for watching this team every week.

2nd and goal from the 2 and we couldn’t punch it in. Pointless direct snap to Fannin on 2nd down and then bad sack on 3rd down.
Kicker hits the 27 yard FG but there’s a flag… and it’s our 2nd illegal formation penalty of the drive. Maddening.

Backs up 5 yards… and now we missed it. Just absolutely embarrassing how bad we are today.

This team has regressed so much since the start of the year. So many self-inflicted wounds.

Undisciplined play has been THE hallmark of SL teams during his tenure.

What you see is what you get, folks. It's never going to get better.
