BG played a better second half, but the Hickory Huskers were just too much. Even though the game got relatively close, it never felt in doubt.

Love the fight just needed to make another play or two. We have to find a way to play 40 minute games because we had the exact same problem last year

It's nice to have as much depth as we do. We have three guards plus johnson who can score in bunches and a full rotations of bigs. The Mac will call 20 fouls a game on us and tonight we showed we can withstand some foul trouble

Some good, some major issues. The depth is a plus and this team can score unlike last year. The rotations and meshing it all together is clearly going to take some time. Defensively they pretty much stink, and the officiating the final 10 minutes was just awful which is expected. The game felt like Bellarmine last year only this team had some firepower to fight back. Monday is probably just what the doctor ordered to beat the piss out of someone. Davidson would win the MAC.

Agree with all of this. I’m also not too concerned considering this is their second game playing together. I haven’t looked at Davidson’s roster but they are usually pretty good at keeping folks on the team, so they probably have much more time together. Once the offense fully gels for a game I think we are in competition for the MAC. Defense has got to get better though.

Attended more games than any responsible student should have.

As awful and discouraging as the first half was there was almost as much reason to be intrigued in the second half. Once Johnson hit those early 2nd half there's guys started running through screens and really played much better defense in the second half. Hopefully a lesson that will stick...can't pick and choose when to work on defense.

I don't know if Davidson wins the MAC but they're probably right up there. They knew what they were doing defensively for sure.

I'm still not in love with us offensively. We have talented players but if we don't get out in transition it really feels like just put the ball in one of the guards hands and hope they can create. I'd much rather see us run sets like Davidson did all game long.
