Harold Fannin Jr.

Post by jpfalcon09 »

Dude deserves his own appreciation thread on here for the season he's having. He alone is worth the price of admission.

After Week 5:

6th in receiving in the nation
Leads all TEs in receptions, yards
2x MAC Offensive POTW
2x Mackey Award POTW
Shrine Bowl POTW (week of 9/30)
Highest graded college football player by PFF - 95.2

Still a long way to go, but he's already 30% of the way to breaking Freddie Barnes' school record of 1,770 receiving yards in a season.

I originally figured it'd be his last season here because he would go to a powerhouse P5 school next season. Now I think it'll be his last season here because he will be a first or second round NFL Draft pick.

IF his athletic testing matches the tape he's a top 100 pick in next year's draft. If he proves to be a better athlete than that even he could be a top 50 pick.

He's a superstar and absolutely the reason I want to watch BG play.

It will come down to the true height ane weight too. If he ends up like 6-2 225 he might not have a position.

This is very true, but to me I lump that in with Athletic Testing.

A guy that is 6'2 225 that runs a specific 40/cone drill/vert jump/etc means something very different than a dude that puts up the same testing numbers at 6'3 240

My point is his tape (Routes, ball skills, hands, blocking effort, run after catch) is that of a top half of the draft TE even doing it in the MAC (and yeah, he lit it up against the best teams on our schedule too). But ultimately it will come down to his athleticism/size numbers matching that tape. You're right, if he's smaller than listed (which I have some fear of) that will matter. If he's proven relatively unathletic, that will also matter. If the size/speed numbers match the tape? Sky's the limit.

Sam LaPorta is 6’3”, 247 pounds.
Quinton Morris 6’ 2” 252

He’s got the chance to be a TE1! And a very good one!

Making Canton McKinley proud....Fannin is a beast. I think he's in the NFL next year so we gotta enjoy every game he has left here.

Fannin is now 4th in the country in receiving yards.

That’s a great story and a great young man. Can’t wait to see what he does in the NFL but I think he is going to help carry this team to Detroit first.

Maybe the best offensive season by a Falcon since Freddie Barnes caught 150+ passes in 2009
