One of my favorite memes in the Annie Agar NFL videos is the way she bagged on Smith and the Falcons

The Falcons cut some WRs and Hilaire is down to the final 10 at the position. Likely means a good chance at the practice squad

Scotty Miller made the Steelers’ 53-man roster out of camp. Quintin Morris made the Bills’ 53-man roster, as well. Karl Brooks also on the Packers’ initial roster.

OJ Hilaire didn’t make the Falcons, but I’d imagine he will land on someone’s practice squad?

Seems unlikely at this point. Hilaire wasn't on the initial list from Atlanta. They still have some slots open, so we'll see.

I don't know how these dudes live that life. Tons of work to stay in shape, go to tryouts, etc...but these practice squads are SO fluid guys get cut/added constantly.

I'll say. Rookie practice squad players get $12,500 per week nowadays. It's not like it was 20, or even 10 years ago.

Oh hell yes, I get that. And with the new rules a lot of the PS guys get called up for gamedays a handful of times.

All of those guys that were released then immediately added to a PS the next day? Totally understand it.

I cannot fathom how the guys are doing it that are basically staying in shape all year hoping to get called back to a PS and bounce around from one squad to another. Sure the weeks they're on one it pays well, but then they get ousted for somebody else, they get zero. I mean, the weekly salary is such that you're right, 5-6 weeks on there and they're making more than 99% of others in their age bracket, but still a life I don't think I could live.

It is tough..Most of the last 25 years of my life have been spent with some level of income insecurity because a pretty decent portion of my income is based on how much I sell..market gets tighter..money gets worse...it can be frustrating when the business just isn't there

Slight twist on the title of this thread. I was watching the CFL Grey Cup game last night and they mentioned Ryan Hunter. He bounced around the NFL for a few years, with the majority of his time spent on practice squads, then signed with the Toronto Argonauts in 2022. He has won 2 CFL championships with them and this year was named the CFL's Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman.

Karl Brooks blocked the game winning FG yesterday as the Packers edged the Bears.

Q had a few solid blocks for the Bills yesterday, and broke free on a route where Josh Allen badly underthrew him. Would have walked into the end zone if he got him in stride.

Scotty Miller was a healthy inactive for the Steelers and his playing time seems to be dwindling pretty quickly.

just started reading the Beast, The Athletic Draft book, They have Bazalek as the 19th best QB prospect, which likely means a camp invite/arm.

Thats out of 88 guys.

Nobody better in the business.

Future Cleveland Brown, Harold Fannin Jr was listed as TE6, #82

A two-year starter at Bowling Green, Fannin played the “A” tight end position in head coach Scot Loeffler’s pro-style spread offense, splitting his snaps between inline/wing (38.3 percent), slot (31.7 percent) and out wide (26.2 percent). In an offense designed to weaponize its tight end, Fannin transitioned from high school safety and had arguably the greatest tight end season in FBS history in 2024, setting single-season records for catches (117) and receiving yards (1,555). He became the first consensus All-American in Bowling Green history (and just the school’s second in any sport).

With his strong hands and urgent athleticism, Fannin is at his best as a pass catcher and shows a unique feel for creating as a ball carrier. He is still very young — and it shows, especially in his blocking and route running. Overall, Fannin is somewhat of an unconventional prospect. He is awkwardly athletic with stiff, restricting movements, but he plays with straight-line explosiveness, outstanding tracking skills and threatening run-after-catch ability. He fits best as a hybrid H or F tight end and offers three-down potential.

Tyrone Broden ran a 4-22? Probably not but he ran at least a 4.37. I don't remember him having incredible speed.
