OSU fans would never admit BG exists. Tech hates us, they just hate Northern more.

The state of Ohio has ONE school with a Division 1 hockey national championship.

And it's not Miami or Ohio State.

I learned over the weekend that this year we're flying charter to/from Bemidji and Mankato, commercial to St. Thomas with an overnight sleeper bus home as the boys get back more quickly, and charter to Northern with an overnight bus home (I may have that one wrong). We're bussing to both LSSU and Ferris. In the coaches talk Friday Curtis mentioned flying instead of bussing is helping on the recruiting front.

Not BG-related, but AIC has announced they will be dropping down to Division II at the end of this season. Pretty shocking from a reliably strong team in the Atlantic.

McMahon cited budget cuts due to lower than anticipated enrollment. The hockey program has the highest expenditures of any athletic team.

Eric Lang had been a hot commodity for several coaching jobs but chose to stay. Can only imagine he'll be moving on. Several players will also be losing scholarships.

Lang was interviewed for both the BG and Miami jobs. Somebody is going to get a pretty good coach.

He interviewed a lot of places. Pretty sure he was even offered a rather high profile job in the West recently (Wisky maybe?) and he turned it down. If you're a coach that thinks your seat is getting a bit warm, I'd be worrying a little bit.

Daniels has been sitting on 499 wins for almost a month now. Maybe he calls it a day when (if?) he gets past 500. Ferris' problem is, like you pointed out, there are more desirable possibilities.

Oddly enough, I think Ferris is one of those places that a coach could find success. It seemed like the stars would align every 4 or 5 years and they'd go on a run.

But, they're in the same position as AIC. Lower division play-up that's never really had sustainable success. Right now, I don't think it's a matter of if, but when more schools are going to follow AIC. Unfortunately, I think both Ferris and LSSU are closer than most people want to admit. And in no way is that meant as a dig on either school. There's been rumors for a couple years about the situation in the Sault. Not as strong of rumors as we had here though.

That's huge. Moore has been good this year for the most part, but improving our depth in net is critical in a long season.

It will make Moore better. Up until now, he knows it's his net, no matter what. That's good and bad. There's been times he has not looked good at all. Definitely has not been 100% healthy for every game this season.
