Re: Path to MAC Championship game
WMU lost last night which eliminates them from a potential 6-2 tie scenario. Miami beat NIU.
Rooting interest tonight should be Eastern Michigan and Ohio. Would push both Buffalo and Toledo to 5-3.
If BG then wins Saturday, the Miami game becomes a winner take all.

If you think we're going to lose a game i think the path is easier if ohio loses tonight. That scenario we get in with an ohio loss to ball st. I wouldn't call it likely but there's not a lot of good scenarios if we lose either game. Re: Path to MAC Championship game
Ohio is smacking Toledo around in the second half in the Glass Bowl. Their defense is playing crazy good (best in the MAC) and they run the ball with their RB and QB all over the place. They’re headed to Detroit, mark my words.fanatic13 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 20, 2024 7:09 pmIf you think we're going to lose a game i think the path is easier if ohio loses tonight. Re: Path to MAC Championship game
The picture is much clearer now. BG is going to have to win out to get to Detroit. It’s going to be Ohio vs the winner of the Miami-BG game.
GO BG!!!

The way it should be. No backing in.

Re: Path to MAC Championship game
I am in agreement with all above, leave no doubt and win out to get to Detroit is the expectation. But it looks like an ohio loss to Ball State next week would open up two paths to detroit:
- lose to BSU and beat Miami; we face Buffalo (assuming they beat Kent State)
- beat BSU and lose to Miami; we face Miami
I don’t see BSU beating Ohio, so hopefully the boys handle business against BSU and defend home field in a legacy defining game against Miami. Ay Ziggy!

Re: Path to MAC Championship game
There is one more laughable option. If we lose to ball st and beat Miami were in if Kent wins at Buffalo. I think it's more likely I'm the next coach at KentAyziggy01 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 22, 2024 9:21 pm I am in agreement with all above, leave no doubt and win out to get to Detroit is the expectation. Re: Path to MAC Championship game
BG can make the MACC even with a loss. Would need Ball State to beat Ohio and one of Kent, CMU, or WMU to win.

Re: Path to MAC Championship game
Ball State isn’t going to beat Ohio, especially in Athens. Ohio will be in Detroit. The question is, will it be BG or Miami there too?jpfalcon09 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2024 9:58 pm BG can make the MACC even with a loss. Would need Ball State to beat Ohio and one of Kent, CMU, or WMU to win.

Ohio has the best defense since the '85 Bears, how dare you infer the possibility of them losing in Athens, OH.BGSU33 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2024 8:23 amBall State isn’t going to beat Ohio, especially in Athens. Re: Path to MAC Championship game
Ohio has lost just 1 game in the last three years at home. There's not a chance in hell Ball State is walking in there and beating Ohio with a MAC Championship on the line.guest44 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2024 9:40 amOhio has the best defense since the '85 Bears, how dare you infer the possibility of them losing in Athens, OH.BGSU33 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2024 8:23 amBall State isn’t going to beat Ohio, especially in Athens.
