I thought he'd do a lot more here. He showed a lot of flashes of talent. Was he injured this season?

Attended more games than any responsible student should have.

In a bit of a head scratcher to me, Ed Rhambo is in the portal. Sophomore CB transferred in last season from NAU and had a good amount of playing time this past year.

All four corners who started this year on their way out.

Decent chance he’s getting a bag somewhere else? He’s a good player with multiple years of eligibility left.

K Alan Anaya is in the portal. He was 13/18 on field goals and 43/43 on PATs last year but only appeared in 3 games this season as a holder and didn’t attempt any kicks.

Considering he wasn’t the starter at the beginning of the season (Kleather) and then when Kleather got hurt (?), Long became the starter, it seems like he wasn’t going to play here again. So, good luck to the kid.

He’s also on the soccer team, so I guess this counts as a double transfer?

Believe it or not, that's actually his brother Alberto. He was out of eligibility after this season, so they'll both depart BG at the same time. Makes sense to me.

I stand corrected. I thought he was a 2-sport athlete. He probably is, just not at BG.

As for losing him as a kicker, Zach Long seems to have the stronger leg of the kickers we have seen recently. Anaya was accurate but didn’t have much distance, Kleather seemed to have a bit more distance but wasn’t as accurate, and Long seems to have the most distance but also feels pretty accurate.

Suddenly an inexperienced QB room.

Loeffler can do well in the portal at this position + I like the freshman he is bringing in. That doesn't mean the "inexperienced" tag goes away, but I think that position will be just fine. Kitna was once committed to Houston before breaking his leg towards the end of his junior season and then committed to UAB (connection with Dilfer and his dad). When it didn't look bright for Dilfer's future, Kitna had to look elsewhere. I think he has the chance to step in and win some games if he has the pieces around him.

We're going to miss him. Dropping him back to a more midfield role and playing Painter & Terry out front really opened up the offense. Anaya was a great facilitator and could still finish when needed.

Bringing back 2 double digit goal scorers should bode well for next season but Graves has played every second of GK for like 3+ yrs, plus seeing Anaya, Cuisamano, and Erlandson run out of eligibility is gonna hurt.

Agree with all of this -- men's soccer has some great players scheduled to return, but they are losing a tremendous senior class.

As for American football, wasn't Alan Anaya hurt for much of this season? I seem to remember seeing him on crutches on the sidelines for a few games.

OT Nick Reimer is in the portal.

Started 3 games for us this year before going down in the A&M game and never returned.
