@ Minnesota State (12/6-7)

Post by mbenecke »

Next up, our Falcons (5-5-2) head to Mankato to take on the Minnesota State Mavericks (10-4-2). Friday night’s game will begin at 8:07pm EST, with Saturday’s game coming at 7:07pm. As always, with it being a league series, the games will be available to stream on Midco.

Mankato is unbeaten in their last 7 games, and they are always among the best teams in the conference, so this will naturally be a massive challenge for us. Would be huge to go up there and take any kind of points (percentage!) from this series.

They have a great goalie in net, what’s new? Alex Tracy has a 1.37 GAA and a .947 SV%. He also sees less than 25 shots per game, so it’s going to be challenging to break through and even get shots on net, let alone score goals in this series. When we have opportunities, whether in 5 on 5 or on the PP, we have to convert, or we have no shot. So… let’s play some good hockey this weekend and surprise some people.

Go Falcons!

Scars got a one game suspension from the league for that love tap. I’ve seen Tech do worse with no repercussions but whatever.

Hate to say it, but it's time for this experiment to be done and start looking elsewhere. The CCHA is not a serious college hockey conference.

The hit from behind Martin took was with 14:00 left in the third. If Scar gets a game, the Tech player should get the same. He never had a clean angle for a hit. Straight from behind the whole way.

I'm so serious when I say this - CCHA 3.0, and ditch the Minnesota leadership.

BG, Ferris, NMU, LSSU, maybe Tech, Miami if finally they want out, maybe schools like Robert Morris, Mercyhurst, Niagara, RIT, etc.

I'm burned out by the obvious bias in this league towards Mankato, Bemidji, St. Thomas, Tech, and Augustana for some reason. Probably has something to do with the league office being located in Minnesota, run by a former Minnesota coach, etc. It drives me insane. Let them go drown in the NCHC instead.

I think the only way to get Lucia's love and affection is to win and win big. Until that happens he'll keep playing with his shiny new toy in South Dakota. Speaking of which, Lucia makes it a point to attend a game at every conference members arena. Anyone want to bet against me that he shows up at the Slate on Jan 24 or 25?

Oh, I know. Lol. I'll be in town for that series, as well. Bringing my father in-law for his birthday. Guy LOVES BG hockey despite no prior connection to the university.

I'm not certain Stoever's injury is as bad as we all thought post game Saturday. Looks like he was in the lobby signing autographs after the game. If the injury was that severe, I doubt he would have been available for that. Anybody partake?

Saw that too. It may be he was cramping.

Saw him heading to the postgame autograph session and overheard him say to someone that it locked up on him

Game was closer than the score indicates. One of the most boring games i can remember in a long time.
