68 Ventures Bowl vs. Arkansas State (12/26)
Re: 68 Ventures Bowl vs. Arkansas State (12/26)
BG had a 2nd and goal from the 4 and took 2 penalties, settled for a field goal, and missed it. Kicker is 1/4 on field goals tonight.
I think I’m going to bed.

Arkansas State doesnt want to put it away and BG equally does not want to catch up.

Nice of the 2022 and 2023 Falcons show up tonight. I forgot what the Jekyll & Hyde act looked like.

Loeffler's patented burning a timeout in the 2nd half coming back to bite them.

BG has now lost 8 of its last 9 bowl games. Simply PATHETIC!!! Meanwhile, you look at a superior program like MAC Champion like Ohio, which has won 6 straight bowls. BG continues to fall on its face time and time again in key games outside of Toledo, while Ohio continues to rack up the wins. BG has become an irrelevant program in the past decade in the conference and it’s not going anywhere, while schools like Ohio, Miami and Toledo continue to excel and thrive. This is who BG is. We’re living in the past while those school are the present and future. And it’s not going to change.
GO BG!!!

Two things that hurt our chances of winning - our own mistakes and the ASU QB. I’m surprised the game remained this close.

I'm going to miss Fannin.
These Loeffler games are exhausting. Win the yard battle by 100, win TOP, turnovers equal and we lose. Also don't think anyone is arguing we looked like the better team

I just left the game and I can you that is one terrible qb we have. I understand you can’t be that pathetic on specials teams and expect to win. It was just very frustrating to watch guys run around wide open and see so many passes late and behind the receiver. Also, in typical SL fashion the team just came out flat. Arkansas State was fired up and hitting hard from the get go.
Only good thing about this season was getting to watch Harold Fannin. The kid is amazing and even more impressive in person. They tried to hold him or interfere on most plays and it didn’t matter. He was a man amongst boys.

Too many mistakes to overcome last night....we shot ourselves in the foot over and over and couldn't get over the hump. 1-8 in our last night bowl games...sad. I went to bed thinking why the F can't we win a bowl game?? The Special teams were a disaster and our D decided not to show up.
And have we reached the ceiling with SL? 7-5 is the best we will get with him? We had a pretty loaded team this year. Frustration in the highest sense.

I wouldn’t necessarily call it living the past. I’d call it still needing to finish the clean out of an incompetent AD and a con man pulling the strings on that AD. Combine that with President who lacks the ability to hold people accountable and Scot Loeffler seems worth something. It has nothing to do with any other MAC school and has everything to do with the mirror.BGSU33 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 27, 2024 12:46 am BG has now lost 8 of its last 9 bowl games. Simply PATHETIC!!! Via Tyler Kavalecz of Falcon Media Sports Network:
Interesting note: @BG_Football quarterback Connor Bazelak finished the season with a 66.9% completion percentage, the second best mark in program history behind only Matt Johnson (67.3% in 2015).
