2024-25 Offseason

I certainly hope DVDM is smart about any extension that gets by handed out to SL.

Going into the last year on his deal and coming off 3 straight bowl appearances and winning 2 of 3 against Toledo, I think he gets a 2 year extension. Just a gut feeling.

I also think we regress significantly next year with all the roster turnover and we are looking for a new coach by the end of November.

Guess we’ll see! Very pivotal offseason we are entering here. Things can change quick with the right transfer portal additions.

27-41 and still 14 games under .500 and that’s after his best season. He couldn’t coach in 2019 and you still don’t want him as coach in a big game at the end of 2024. Under the Clawson model he sold the good old boys on, Loeffler would be gone at this point. His original contract would have just run out. A lot behind the scenes factors in play like DVDM kid on the roster, which yes it matters. Let his contract run out if you don’t have a plan to move on. No other schools are using Scot Loeffler’s contract in recruiting. Most coaches can’t even figure out who is and who isn’t even on the roster at this point. You don’t ever HAVE to extend anyone at the MAC level.

Loeffler received over 62K in incentives on top of this mediocre season. He doesn’t deserve another dime.

Speaking on Clawson, if that’s what you really want just have the good old boys call him with a 10 year offer and do it. Enough of this nonsense of a coach who can’t coach claiming he’s Dave Clawson.

I think this roster is the best Scot could muster. 7-6 is the pinnacle of Scot Football.

Scot is 1-5 in season ending games. Seven wins appears to be the best he can muster. Pull the plug...now

Can't fire him soon enough for me. BG has effed me over as a Hoops fan twice in recent memory letting coaches go into lame duck seasons, so I have no remorse if they do the same for football. The man has done jack squat to earn an extension though.

Making pissant bowl games because everybody makes them and unable to win a single one? Never a single MAC title game? Double digit losses in MAC games every freaking year? At least 1 or 2 "WTF how did you manage to lose to THEM!?" game every season?

Dude can't coach. He couldn't coach QBs and was promoted to OC. Couldn't coordinate an offense and somehow got promoted to HC. Can't head coach, but there's nobody out there stupid enough to take him off our hands. I will never in my life understand how somebody who's mediocre at everything he touches keeps getting promoted. The guy has somehow parlayed knowing Tom Brady into millions of dollars of earnings. What a joke.

Don’t forget BG was a 10 point favorite last night, a favorite over NMSU in 2022, and Minnesota had to pay a bum qb who couldn’t pass to play in 2023 and lost as 2 point dog. This is with his ability to get transfers to play in those games. Wake the hell up, this guy has been spewing bullshit from the beginning.

If it were up to me he would get an extended stay in Mobile. I don't think we get a better roster under Loeffler and this season wasn't good enough to keep him around. I appreciate him getting the program back from a dumpster fire but that's not enough at this point

Feels like we keep having the same conversation year after year. Bottom line is if the right deep-pocketed boosters still love Loeffler, he won't go anywhere. I don't see this as a DVDM decision and expect he gets an unjustified extension.
This year, BGSU football has been 1-3 players away from being a disaster, not 1-3 players from a championship team. Where is this team without Fannin? I don't think they win more than 2-3 games if he isn't on the roster. Please don't tell me Loeffler developed Fannin. The kid had 0 stars coming to BG. We hit the lottery with him but his development has a lot more to do with his own abilities (and obviously bad high school scouting by everyone) than anything else.
The O-line was, again, horrible when it came to run blocking. Thank goodness they were serviceable as pass blockers. Bazelak was also serviceable but that is all. Stewart.....I have no idea what is his deal. Great talent but his lack of carries indicates he may be a problem we don't need. Good luck Hokies.
Next year is going to be Jinksian ugly.

Im fine with keeping him. 6-3 with 4 exhibition games is fine by me. I do with the offense is better.

He has shown that players love playing for him and he can recruit.

I am excited to see what happens this offseason but I expect a competitive team next year.

I do wish the offense was better.

I think SL has proven he will never have a great QB or serviceable O line. This is the biggest negative for me. Any of you who think Bazelak is good have to be drinking heavily watching the games.

I think even just having a good Oline this year would have given us a 10+ win season.

This year he had a great QB and a serviceable OL.

Bazelek threw for 12000+ yards good for 40th all-time in the NCAA.

OL wasn't the issue on this team.

That would be about 400th all time if players got to play 6 years historically. He wasn't even one of the top two qb's in the MAC at age 24.

Bazelak accepted an invite to the Hula Bowl.
