Definitely. I feel like we are very improved from the beginning of the year, to be able to play 63 scoreless minutes with the 2nd best team in the league.

Meanwhile Mankato gets shut out against Ferris…
68 combined shots, one goal. I'd be real interested in knowing the "Grade A" numbers. Not a lot of shots felt dangerous, but a lot of that was just how solid both goaltenders played.
Has this exact thought during the game. It felt like there were a lot of shots, but very few really juicy chances both ways. Maybe one or two per team in regulation, to me.

Thought it was a really well-fought game, and I was happy to at least hold on and get a point out of it. Gotta figure out a way to score on Kotai tonight.

Seth Fyten taps a Niedermayer net front pass in with a minute to play in the first, and BG leads 1-0 after the first 20 minutes.

Looks like a strong crowd tonight.

Bad turnover from Pfoh and it’s a shorthanded goal for Augustana in the back of our net.

1-1 with 8:32 in the middle frame.

End of 2, it’s tied 1-1.

Another opportunity for us to have a big third period performance and take this from a tie to a win. We’re at home, we have a chance at 3 points, let’s get them.

We’re heading to OT tied at 1.

4th straight home game to be decided beyond regulation.

Falcons get at least 2 points out of the weekend, looking for a 3rd.

Absolutely brutal (and correct) too many men penalty with 1:27 left in OT…

Augustana takes the shootout.

Falcons take 2 points on the weekend. Not a bad weekend by any means, but I’ll know the program is building towards something more when we can figure out how to win these types of games against good teams. Tough to stomach a tie and drop points when you give up 1 goal and outshoot the best team in the league by 15. Nevertheless, the push for home ice continues.

Go beat NMU, boys.

Two shootouts in a row where we don’t score. Bring back ties!

I never really have faith when we go to shootouts, or even have breakaways, because we don’t have a bunch of highly skilled guys with the puck on their stick with great finishing ability. That’s just our reality.

I don’t really know how to feel about this series. On one hand, you’re annoyed to give up 1 goal in 6 periods of regulation hockey and not get a single win. But you also have to be happy scoring 1 goal on the weekend and getting results both nights.

Best to acknowledge that they played hard and competed well against a good opponent and then move on to next week, right?

I think it was a solid weekend. We were 1 play away, both games, from winning, just sucks that we could not make them. Very competitive against a top team in the league and 21st team in the pairwise.

This team is playing well. They're nothing like they were in November. We took it to a team that was supposedly better than we were. Right now I'm wishing we still had a series against Mankato and/or Tech. Who would have thought Eigner's guys could play like this? We may not finish top 4, but this team is not finishing 7th despite what the prognosticators predicted at the start of the season.

We were a negative 1 on the power play this weekend. That's bad. We had chances to put them away and couldn't (see mbeneke's comment about not having scorers).

I thought the refs called a good series. Would have liked to see a holding/interference call or two go our way but that's much different than some of the other BS calls this season.

Many games this season have been one play away. I like Willy's approach, in that if you're one play away, keep doing things correctly and that one play will start going your way. Not sure the previous 2 coaches handled that part the same way. Willy has mentioned the statistics collected by Sportslogic a couple times this season. Multiple times BG has led every single positive category, but the one that counts (goals scored). It's frustrating not scoring goals, but as long as they keep playing how they are, eventually they're going to go in.

I don't blame Pfoh. BG had three men back but the scorer had nobody on him.

Fair. Someone’s gotta make a play there.
