Injuries

Post by bghkyfan74 »

Heard today from a source within the program that Yoyo and Towns are both shut down for the remainder of the season...

Unfortunate but understandable. After tonight against Kent, we’re going to be 4-9 in the MAC and be multiple games back from just getting to Cleveland. Seems pretty unlikely at this point that the season will be saved, so preserve their eligibility and hopefully they will come out the other side healthy and ready to play basketball again, here or otherwise.

It will be interesting to see what Towns does. He has been often injured throughout his career and certainly would make sense to move on, but the fact he has stuck around and been as involved as he is makes it possible he gets another year. In my opinion he had improved so much offensively he could have had a really solid year. My hope is that maybe the down year allows them to keep a core together for next year rather than a full turnover.

Sounding like Towns will focus on a professional career overseas. Not for sure but those are the rumors. As for Yoyo, I have no idea what he will do. Hopefully he stays around. As for next year, it'll be hard to say what the roster will look like. I would assume Campbell and Felt get poached/take a chance at a bigger school. Butler has eligibility left from his JUCO years. Humphrey may or may not have an additional year with one year at a JUCO.

I think Karel and Leach will have the chance to play right away.

I think with the remaining schedule we can still make it to Cleveland but with this news the question is why bother?

Per Jon Rothstein, Trey Thomas is out for the season with a broken leg. Cleveland is out of the picture now. Just put up a good fight for the last few weeks.
