@ Bemidji State (2/21-22)
It’s mid-February, and that means the CCHA playoff push is in full swing. Next up, our Falcons (15-10-4, 3rd CCHA) head to west to take on the Bemidji State Beavers (11-15-4, 8th CCHA) in a crucial series. Friday night’s game will begin at 8:07pm EST, with Saturday night’s beginning at 7:07pm.
Bemidji enters following an off week, but before the off week, they swept Tech in Houghton 5-3 and 6-5 for their biggest wins of the season. They’re a weird team to figure out, as before that, they had been swept by Ferris and they also were swept by Northern Michigan a few weeks before. So they are certainly capable of losing to anyone. But with their grab and hold style of hockey, room to skate might be hard to come by. When they came to our building in January, we only got 3 points out of the weekend because we gave up extra attacker goals in both games, but it felt like we should have swept. So, hopefully, we’ll get things figured out and finish the job up there this weekend.
NOTABLE STATS:
Goals Per Game: BG 2.48 (7th), Bemidji 2.60 (6th)
Goals Allowed Per Game: BG 2.38 (3rd), Bemidji 3.10 (7th)
Shots on Goal Per Game: BG 34.28 (1st), Bemidji 28.87 (5th)
Power Play Percentage: BG .202 (7th), Bemidji .244 (3rd)
Penalty Kill Percentage: BG .806 (3rd), Bemidji .733 (7th)
Face-off Percentage: BG .530 (1st), Bemidji .484 (5th)
Blocked Shots Per Game: BG 9.72 (9th), Bemidji 13.40 (2nd)
GOALIE STATS:
Bemidji
Mattias Sholl (Sr.) - 29 GP, 2.92 GAA, .891 SV%
BGSU
Christian Stoever (Sr.) - 13 GP, 1.70 GAA, .948 SV%
Cole Moore (So.) - 18 GP, 2.84 GAA, .907 SV%

Re: @ Bemidji State (2/21-22)
From the radio interview yesterday, there were quite a few guys sick last week. Only the guys playing traveled for the U18 game, and the roster for that wasn't set until about noon Friday due to guys still catching the bug. Sounded like most everybody was back healthy Monday, so hopefully it stays that way.

Wozny goes the wrong way with it and three seconds later it’s 2-1.

2-2 game late in the 2nd.
Stream sucks, apparently Bemidji is having network issues on their end. Bad look.

Playing for 3rd
Losing to teams like this is that we are better then is super disheartening. Damn it, beat teams your better then. Mediocrity at it finest.

Bemidji really like to check in the back, and dive.
And apparently, their internet sucks. I'm not convinced the feed from the arena was the problem, but the CCHA will never admit otherwise.

Re: @ Bemidji State (2/21-22)
We’ve never had much luck going up to Bemidji and winning on their ice, but this Bemidji team is bad. We need to salvage the split tonight. St. Thomas is right on our heels in the standings, and I want to lock up home ice in the first round of the playoffs.
