Someone correct me if I’m wrong but did I see where they did away with Flex plan tickets this year until recently when they realized basketball attendance was horrible? Also got a call about a $25 dollar ticket to see the BG/Toledo women’s game on Saturday. Must have thought South Carolina was coming back to town.

The gameday experience could be better, but I feel like they've tried a few things this year and I appreciate the effort. For example, 50/50 is back. They had a donut vendor at a game (haven't seen them since, but I appreciate the effort). The merchandise kiosk is actually open for sales as opposed to sitting there locked. The national anthem has been full of impressive performances this year. But then there's the little things that get forgotten or just bug you.

1. Concessions lines are always crazy long. You miss so much of the game if you just want to get a bottle of water. They did have vendors walking the steps selling drinks, and I jumped on that so I didn't have to miss the game. But, the drink vendors haven't been around recently, either.

2. The in-game promotions and recognitions are inconsistent. Falcon Club member of the game isn't always recognized - did they forget, or did they just assume there wasn't a member in attendance? Kids Club fan of the game isn't always recognized, and hasn't been for many consecutive games. Again, forgotten, or was it a choice? I know we're in attendance as Falcon Club members with a kid in the kid's club.

3. The blimp. It went on it's voyage once and it's been shuttered since. Why waste the time and money if we aren't going to use it?

4. Kid's Club High-Five Tunnel. According to the literature, we are supposed to meet at the marketing table on the concourse. There is no such table, unless the 50/50 table is doubling as the marketing table. However, no matter where you wait, nobody comes to get you. Meanwhile, they just grab random kids in the stands sitting down in the corner and ask if they want to be part of the tunnel, so I've just been sending my son down on the court when it's getting close and I let the security folks and the athletics staff figure it out from there. I thought you were supposed to be in the kid's club to participate? I could have saved my money apparently.

However, I do want to give a shout out to one particular player. My son looks forward to the high five tunnel for every game. He's 4, almost 5, and it ranks right up there with hugging Freddie and Frieda as the highlight of his experience for a game, only completed with a tub of popcorn. When the players come out to the court, they're obviously focused on the game but they make sure to hold their hands out while jogging through the tunnel of kids. But, Trey Thomas makes sure to give every kid a high five. There have been a couple times where he's come back to give a kid a high five that he missed on his way onto the court. Trey, if you read this, that's impressive. You have no idea what difference that makes for a little kid. You're building a Falcon fan for life, and this family is definitely a Trey Thomas fan. What an upstanding young man. Thank you!

Would agree that the gameday experience could be enhanced. As a Falcon Club member and Member of the Game at a volleyball game, they called me a few days ahead of time to see if I would be at the game. So I don't think it is something they figure out on the day of the game.

Kids Club has always been an easy one to point out. There seems to be 20 college students working with the in-game promotions, yet 1 or 2 of them can't be designated to run the high-five tunnel. Just seems like a failure to allocate people in necessary spots.

I did recognize that the blimp was no longer in the arena. It was flown a few more times after the UT game but only at the men's games. I am not sure where it went but if it doesn't make another appearance, it was a complete waste of money and time.

95% of the administrators see games as an opportunity to sit around and watch for free, while the other 5% work. Hard to be impactful when you're in the minority.

The blimp was and is like most things with BGSU, all for social media. Rogers son dates the social media person. I heard the blimp sat in the back for months and months before it was used. They got what they wanted out it a few social media posts and videos.

Pretty sure it was back there the entire season before they finally broke it out for the UT game.

Thing could be really cool, but instead....disappears.

Sigh...

I hope felt and Campbell both stay although I doubt they will. Agee has struggled this season at a bad usc team while Hill has a solid season it's had it's up and downs including the past few games. Both can be stars here next season and still have two years to chase the money or play for a tournament team.

The whole ops team has been here for over a decade some new faces and fresh ideas are needed. Things have improved with dvdm but I'm sure there's too much "that's the way we always do things" going on. I have nothing against Jim or Steve either but have had a handful of issues with Jamie on the basketball arena side. One that sticks out is a young kid (like 5 to 8) was playing on the court 10-15 minutes after the game with a player. Jamie came over and scorned everyone and made the kid get off the court. Went from an awesome interaction to a sad and awkward one quickly. I see the same thing happen before every nba game. Left a bad taste with me since then.

Some cleaning house was needed after Moosbrugger got fired 3 years too late, not near enough of it has happened. The entire department was shaped by Hughes. He put people in positions they had no business being, mostly to protect himself, and these people won't be leaving for other opportunities on their own.

I heard the blimp was damaged and is no longer usable. Can't confirm that for certain, but that's what I've been told.
