Michigan fired their OC yesterday...maybe....I understand SL has connections up there..
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Extend him one year and if he wins 8 games next year it jumps to 2 automatically?jpfalcon09 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 04, 2024 4:08 pmMy guess is he gets an extension. Whether it's one year or two is the question. Odds are 2025 is a down year, so then what do you do?Flipper wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2024 10:36 pm It would be stupid to throw a Candle like offer out there...agree with hammb in that we're probably better served hiring a lower division HC who views the job as a stepping stone, or to a coordinator or position coach willing to sacrifice a couple of years of higher earnings to build a rep as a HC.
Maybe I'm wrong...but I recall the last time SL was facing a contract year there was a lot of chatter about giving him an extension. Not hering any of that talk now. Could be telling...or not...I honestly do not know

Re: Possible coaching candidates in the future
Loeffler is owed $62,500 in bonuses from this past year.
The longer the walk, the farther you crawl.
Re: Possible coaching candidates in the future
My understanding is that it breaks down like:
$25,000 for bowl eligibility
$25,000 for 6 MAC wins
$7,500 for 5 MAC wins
$5,000 for Harold being MAC POY
I would assume it's possible to get a bonus for actually winning the bowl, but I guess we'll see.

Little bumpGlobetrotter wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2024 9:18 am A little run down of my favorite guys. Starting with Mike Jacobs
Mike Jacobs-Head Coach-Mercer
-6-0 in his first year at Mercer this year (They play bama later this year)
-32-9 @ Lenoir-Rhyne as HC
-42-8 @ Notre Dame College as HC
-First stop coaching was Eastern Michigan OL 2 years, early 2000s
-Was an OL for OSU former walk on
-6 years coaching at ND College in Ohio
-https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxAL70JIk1E Great video highlighting his background
-Born in Maumee and went to Maumee HS
-His Defensive Coordinator is former BGSU DB Jahmal Brown https://mercerbears.com/sports/football ... brown/3035
-Sometimes I worry about their offenses and that they wouldn't translate but it looks like theirs is pretty wide open...Watching the Princeton game from this past weekend. They have run 5 offensive plays so far ALL different formations. 2 TEs, 1 TE, 2 RBs, 3 WO's and 5 WRs. The RB is lining up all over the place and lots of motion.
