Ball st 3/1
Another solid performance gets us our first 3 game winning streak of the season. Held them to 52 after allowing 91 to them in Muncie. Love the way the team is playing right now

I didn’t get to see the game but it’s crazy how we are so short handed and now playing our best ball of the year.

Well in one way it's a bit of addition by subtraction. The Thomas injury forced BG to play zone and with Campbell at the top. Thomas would have been in that spot before and the zone would be equally terrible to the man to man defense. This also gets Johnson in better spots defensively. It's working because Exacte and others are rebounding better than his size. Campbell is the real deal on both ends. Just sit in that zone and grind these games out.
One other key point, we might have ruined Toledo a week ago too.

Even better news, with Central losing Friday night we officially control our own destiny to get to Cleveland.
We sit in the 9 seed currently, but winning our final 2 games would ensure we either a) jump WMU in the standings, or b) enter a tiebreaker scenario where we cannot be the odd team out

Yeah, it's not to say Thomas is awful, but he's very limited on both ends. Campbell is proving to be an absolute baller and his length/hands are invaluable in the zone where he's deflecting passes constantly.guest44 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 01, 2025 10:59 pm Well in one way it's a bit of addition by subtraction. Even though Johnson is pretty bad in zone defense too it's been a lot harder for teams to hunt him and take advantage every trip down like they were when we tried to play man earlier.
I didn't get to catch any of this one, was coaching all afternoon, but very happy to see us grab another win. Let's get to Cleveland and see what can happen.
