Chimel was the top assistant but they had an associate above him so he he was third in charge. I do agree neither if those guys excite me thoughGlobetrotter wrote: ↑Thu Mar 06, 2025 3:41 pmChmiel was the top assistant on the best team in the country
We are talking about hiring a TEs coach from Kentucky or a DBs coach from Minnesota.

Re: Possible coaching candidates in the future
Steve Morrison would probably fit the bill for an interim choice. I'm honestly surprised they're not going that route.

Hiring a coach at this stage might set us back one year. Having an interim coach with no recruiting leverage would set us back multiple years.jpfalcon09 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 06, 2025 8:16 pmSteve Morrison would probably fit the bill for an interim choice. Re: Possible coaching candidates in the future
Some articles that we haven't discussed
https://mikefarrellsports.com/college/c ... ling-green
https://herosports.com/fbs-scot-loeffle ... hire-cpcp/
My list would be, after Mike Jacobs
1-Brian Wright
2-Clint Killough
3-Brent Vigen
4-Trei Oliver
5-Tom Matukiewicz
6-Matt Mitchell
7-Tim Polasek
8-Drew Cronic
9-Eddie George
10-Rusty Wright
If you could somehow talk Will Healy or Brennan Marion off their new gigs I'd be interested too.
Dino Babers or Dave Clawson too...sign me up.
There are too many good coaches with head coaching experience for me to think hiring an assistant with none (other than Marion) makes sense.

It its him
Positives
-Offense seems interesting
-Could keep entire defensive staff and just let them do their thing
-Personality seems to fit area/MAC/young players
Negatives
-Super young
-No Ohio ties
-No head coaching experience

Marrow? His nickname would almost have to be "Bone"
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

I'm guessing this means that you have?

I think Guest knows something…had Simon pegged way ahead of time.

Don’t have much more than a name to be honest but the profile makes sense.

He ran a very up tempo offense this past year at Duke. SMU prior to that. 37 years old.

Re: Possible coaching candidates in the future
Latest from FootballScoop:
Marrow has withdrawn consideration.
Nick Monroe remains a candidate. Mike Bajakian and Kevin Johns have also interviewed. Bajakian is the current OC at UMass and has coached at the Power 4 level. Johns is the QB coach at Oklahoma State and has OC experience at Power 4 schools.
The kicker is apparently the search firm and university have vetted Eddie George, who is the current coach at Tennessee State.
They hope to have the search wrapped up at some point this weekend.
