I updated my model for calculating finishing position for the final two games. Yeah, we shot ourselves in the foot this past weekend. Most likely we're looking at 4th as we lose the tiebreaker with Tech. Yeah, we also lose the tiebreaker with Bemidji. Super.

Code: Select all

                              Projected Finish Position
Team	1	2	3	4	5	6	7	8	9
AU 100%
BGSU 22%	60%	17%	2%
BSU 2%	8%	35%	29%	27%
FSU 5%	37%	36%	22%
LSSU 5%	13%	31%	52%
MNSU	100%
MTU 61%	21%	19%
NMU 100%
UST 18%	20%	59%	4%

I like your model a lot because it’s pretty straight forward.

But if we sweep a bad LSSU team, all we need it Tech to drop a single point. And the fact that they’re playing St. Thomas gives me a decent chance for a split, allowing us to go ahead.

But we’ll see. I just really want a home series this year. Would feel like a big step in the right direction.

My model is quick and dirty and rather cheesy, but it's reasonable/in the ballpark.

Was thinking about this comment, we sure could use BGSUHockey.com right about now...
There was some very interesting conversation between Willy and Clint this morning on the radio. Definitely worth a listen when it's posted later today.

I really wish we had more people in media like Clint.

Reference to the 5 minute major and the extra attacker goal on Saturday. Basically, Willy said he's still learning the nuances of college hockey rules/officiating. I don't want to misquote.

Wow. Willy walked right up to the line but didn't cross it. Clearly he feels we should have 2 more points.

Clint knows just how to push Willy and reminds him often to not get himself into trouble. Sometimes he gets off on a tangent, but for the most part he is a very good interviewer.

Anybody purchase anything from this? Ended Sunday and still no communication about how to pick items up.

I didn’t buy anything, but I had been keeping an eye on it.

Apparently it was either a typo before or it was extended until 3/22, per an email from the athletic department. Keep an eye out, and I hope you win your bid!

It was a bit of a mess. I finally got a response on Tuesday, saying they hadn't actually gotten the jerseys from Scooter yet. Was able to pick it up last night at the game, but still poorly ran with no communication that long after the auction ended. First time, I guess, but usually pickup/shipping details are included in online auction listings, or an automated response is sent immediately after auction closes.

The auction advertised last night that ends March 22nd is everything that did not sell the first time around. I believe the starting bids on the banners is lower this time around. If they'd put the jerseys in the pro shop for $300-$350, they'd probably sell out.

27 and 5. Matches to others I already have. Still can't manage to get (and keep) a 23 to compliment my original.
