what am I doing wrong . . .

when I am voting for Siggy on the HB site, I am getting/hitting a key that says SAVE and after I vote the total is not changing.

On the previous voting I thought that key said VOTE and the votes would change.

What am I doing incorrectly? ??

if you're looking for Siggy's number to go up after you've voted a second time, it won't. You get one vote this round. You can switch it up as many times as you like, but its going to count as one. Whenever the voting period closes, whatever votes are saved will be the ones totalled and included in the final, "official" vote.

I think he should win only because I to go BG and I like supporting our team and our fellow students, but I also fall victim to logic and reason and Tuomas Tarkki, based on the stats I've seen, is a better goalie. So if Sigalet isn't the best goalie in the conference, what are the chances of him being considered the best player in the nation?

I've been in this argument for weeks now, so I won't rehash the entire thing. But what I will say is this...

1) If you take a straight reading of the criteria for the Hobey Baker, statistics aren't a part of it. That being said...
2) You're right. His numbers aren't as good as Tarkki's. But then, Tarkki's aren't nearly as good as either David McKee or Dov Grumet-Morris, the other two goalies under consideration.

What all that means, I don't know. I can tell you that yes, the award has generally gone to a guy with the best numbers in the country, except when it goes to a defenseman, and even then its an offensive defenseman like Mike Mottau. But occasionally they do give it to a guy based on the written criteria and not his numbers (Brian Holzinger comes to mind, which is not to say he didn't have spectacular numbers, because he did, but he wasn't the leading scorer in the country).

Who do I think will get it? One of the Colorado College guys (Sterling or Sertich), unless they split the vote and someone else sneaks in. If someone else sneaks in, I think it will be one of the goalies, probably Grumet-Morris.

My opinion on the goalies: looking at numbers only, its between McKee and Grumet-Morris. Looking at other factors (like the written criteria, the player's role on his team) I think its a race between Sigalet and Grumet-Morris. I was honestly shocked that Tarkki made it into the final 10. I was not shocked about any of the other three goalies (I even predicted that the other three would make it).

Who do I want to win? Jordan all the way. The only thing I think holding him back is numbers because so many goalies had sub-2.00 gaa's this season.
Also, I don't think anyone on the committee will take into consideration Jordan's role in rejuvinating the BGSU hockey program -- I don't know if they should look at that, but I can't honestly look at any of the other nine candidates and see that they've impacted their programs even half as much over their entire careers.

Jordan might do a lot better in the Hobey than a lot of people think, not only on his own merits as a player, student, and person, but also because of the reputation of Bowling Green hockey and the coaching staff.
