Brawl at Men’s Soccer Game
I guess there was a brawl at the men’s soccer game on Saturday. Spring League, we were taking on Michigan. A hard foul by BG led to a shove, followed by a scuffle, which then turned into a brawl. The brawl bled into the crowd (not sure if it was the bleachers or just the grass area). I was told by a few coffee friends that it wasn’t a good sight. 1 ejection and 3 yellow cards in total. Sounds like it was a chippy match from the start, even between the coaching staffs.

Re: Brawl at Men’s Soccer Game
I was at the game. Would be VERY long stretch to call it a brawl. If anything went down in the stands I didn't see it, but we were in our lawn chairs at the other end. It was a fight. It lasted a few mins tops.
BG player with a wreckless head first lunge towards a ball in the air absolutely smoked the UM player that was going up to play the header himself. Think the most textbook definition of football targeting head to head contact imaginable but in a game without helmets. We could hear the contact from the other end. Referee instantly pulled yellow (rightfully), but the UM players fought for their teammates.
There were definitely some punches thrown and Terry for the red ejection for continuing the fight after it was mostly controlled. I found his ejection to be expected, but I also thought the UM guy that started it would get red and was only shown yellow.
From the get go the game was not officiated well. Painters Yellow was questionable. A foul on Terry to negate a goal that seemed like a ridiculous call. From that point forward BG was playing as a team upset with the refs, even though the calls were balanced for the most part after that (although not necessarily called well). It's tough though when 2 big calls go against you(both questionable), cost you a goal in a tight game.
