Get on board now as the softball team is playing well and on a 5 game winning streak. Coach Gardner and her staff have made an immediate impact and BG sits 12-18, 4-2 MAC. The previous two seasons, we were 15-79, 5-51 MAC combined. It was brutal...was.
BG hosts Ball State for 3 games this weekend in MAC play and then travel to my neck of the woods for a DH against Akron on Tuesday. Already have a 1/2 day off for that. Akron did beat BG 7-2 early in the season at the tourney in SC. The team has totally bought into a wealth of knowledge Coach and her staff have.

They got a little bit of a dose of reality in the Ball State doubleheader, but you're right - they are so much better than last year. I don't know if they have a shot at a MAC Tournament berth or not, because I think Ball State is the first good MAC team they've played, but Coach Gardner and her staff have made a huge difference with this team already. It's fun to see them starting to turn things around.
BG dropped both games of a DH at Akron yesterday. Went to the DH and Akron was just better....but we are improving and fighting instead of rolling over. Akron rocked our pitching in game 1, 10-2. Game two we had our chance to win and lost 7-6. Too many errors and mistakes to overcome. I love watching Coach Gardner coach. She is always very positive, and yet firm, about what needs to be done to get better. Addie Martin slugged a 2 run HR in game 2. She is from my hometown of Dover, Oh, and I'd love to see a pipeline of Tornadoes become Falcons.
The team is having fun as well...even after the losses yesterday there was positive talk in the team circle afterwards. Give it a bit of time and we'll be a good team and program again.

You are 100% correct. After losing that first game & falling behind 6-2 in the second game, I think last year's team would have packed it in & lost 10-2 again. But they battled back, & even though Akron scored another run to retake the lead, they just barely hung on at the end. BG had two runners on base, and the last batter of the game hit a ball pretty hard to the right side that the first baseman was able to knock down. I think we are going to be a team to contend with in a year or two, but it's just fun to see them improving for now.
