From the games he played last season, thought he could have had an impact here. Not sure he was even with the team this season. If he ends up staying D1, wouldn't surprise me at all if it's at Mercyhurst. Or maybe even RIT.

TalonsUpPuckDown wrote: Mon Mar 31, 2025 11:03 am With an unknown number of teams whacking their rosters down to 26 spots coupled with CHL guys coming in, there is no longer any room for a lot of the guys currently in the portal. As of this post, McMahon has the portal count at 158 and the vast majority of these guys will not be portalling to BiG, Nacho, or HE teams.

I currently have our roster at 29 which includes Niedermayer, Parker, and Luke Pfoh. Also includes Waters who we've speculated over.

Forwards
Jackson Niedermayer
Brett Pfoh
Jaden Grant
Quinn Emerson
Ben Doran
Brody Waters
Matvei Kabanov
Adam Zlinka
Max Martin
Luke Pfoh (26-27?)
Ilya Rogovsky
Jeremie Minville
Tanner Scott
Jake Sloan
Noah Morneau
Connor Levis
Brandon Whynott
Camden Bajzer

Defensemen
Eric Parker
Jack Blake
Dalton Norris
Breck McKinley
Gustav Stjernberg
Michael Bevilacqua
Ivan Korodiuk
Brayden Crampton
Ty Higgins
Mazden Leslie

Goaltenders
Cole Moore
Jacob Steinman

Portal
Brandon Santa Juana
Adam Schankula
Johannes Løkkeberg
Nick O'Hanisain
Sam Evola
From a very reliable source, I wouldn’t include Parker on next year’s projected roster.

Today is the final hearing on the NCAA AntiTrust Lawsuit (House Settlement). Judge has said she will not rule from the bench today, but by a written brief filed within a few weeks. Roster limits are one of the concerns being argued today. There's more/better information at the links below:

Looks like The U is swooping in and taking Mankato's prized recruits. Money talks. Mankato is having a sad.

The judge in the House Settlement case is not very fond of the roster limits being implemented. It sounds like she doesn't have the power to nullify them without killing the whole settlement. Sounds like she's encouraged the two sides to work something better out there before she finalizes her ruling.

Eric Lang named the new head coach at RPI. I'm keeping my eye on that one - really good coach.

Over on the College Hockey Discord Server some guy from Quinnipiac put in his prediction for next season. What I found interesting is this random ECAC guy seems to have a better idea as to what's going on in our league than do our official and unofficial prognosticators. Holding aside his actual prediction, his rational is spot on. The only one he missed is we also have a coach who demonstrated an ability to "coach 'em up!" through the season.

.Nectar (Quinnipiac/SHU) — 1:25 PM
Way Too Early Bold Prediction: Bowling Green wins the CCHA next year

Reasons I think this:
haven't been raided by the portal
very good recruiting class, especially compared to the rest of the CCHA
will be the litmus test for if loading up on CHL players is the way to go (10 CHL commits joining for next year)
Mankato getting raided
St. Thomas takes a step back

Reasons they won't:
not being raided doesn't matter when you have 13 new players anyways
Mankato is Mankato
the recruiting class falls apart between now and the start of the season

Would have been the case this season if the team could have found 1 more goal per game. That's hopefully the impact of the CHL players.

I just did the math on your 1 more goal per game comment. Yep. We would likely have had 57-59 points which would have beaten Mankato by 1-3 points. With OOC that would have been 24 wins.

Post from a person connected to Lindenwood on X that a conference was poking around campus and speaking with the team on Tuesday. Report is Lindenwood would begin play, if accepted, beginning the 2026-27 season. CCHA feels like a logical fit here given St. Thomas departing and the geographical footprint. Guess we'll wait and see.

Perry Laskaris from the league office commented on this situation: "I wouldn't worry."

I'm still worried, but as you say, we'll wait and see. Maybe it's Atlantic though why would they want Lindenwood over LIU in a cost containment league.

Maybe I’m alone, but I wouldn’t necessarily mind adding Lindenwood? A non-Minnesota school replacing a Minnesota school would be a plus. And at 6:55, it would be the 3rd closest bus trip in the league for us. We could use some closer competition - if WMU and Miami aren’t coming around any time soon, that’s not a bad add geographically.

Obviously not ideal for the league’s image to take on a bad (currently) program. But they aren’t automatically going to be bad forever, right? Bill Muckalt is a Tech and UM guy, he has some connection to the footprint.
