I'd be surprised if Anderson doesn't hit the portal after this. With Kitna waiting in the wings and a new experienced transfer with two years eligibility, it doesn't look good for him to run a spread offense unless he changes positions.

Remains to be seen. There are certainly questions as to whether or not Lucian is accurate enough throwing the ball. Pyne has those same question marks unfortunately in the short game. My guess is he and Anderson are afforded the opportunity to battle it out in fall camp before anyone hops in the portal. BG is wrapping up spring ball this week, Pyne is not enrolling until May 18th. Lucian may have a leg up simply on time to learn the new system. Wouldn't be shocked if both guys end up playing this season in some capacity, whether it's platoon or Anderson has a specific set of calls for him in the playbook.

Im not sure that guy actually has 2 years of eligibility and Kitna is a wild card.

FYI - Pyne DOES have two years of eligibility remaining.

2020 - Covid year at Notre (didn't count, 4 years of eligibility remaining)
2021 - 2 games and Redshirted at Notre Dame (didn't exhaust any eligibility, 4 years left)
2022 - 11 games at Notre Dame (one year of exhausted eligibility, 3 years left)
2023 - 2 games at Arizona State (received a Medical-Redshirt for this year, no exhausted eligibility, 3 years left)
2024 - 6 games at Missouri (one year of exhausted eligibility, 2 years left)
2025 - Transferring to BG with 2 years of eligibility remaining.

Per Rhys Patrykus, LB Sefa Saipaia, who transferred in from Ferris State earlier this year, is in the portal again as a grad transfer.

Bummer. I thought he had the potential to really contribute, and seemed stoked on the new staff. Must have seen that the playing time potential wasn't what he was aiming for.

The author here is John Rich whose brother Brett was the practice goalie for 4 years and whose father is a professor at the university.

6'3 330 OL Alexis Sanchez is transferring to BGSU.

He began his career at Northern Arizona for 3 years before transferring to play for Eddie George at Tennessee State. When Coach George moved on to BG, he hit the portal to follow him here.

I know this is 99% rumor, but given the state of college athletics and NIL and instant transfer, I honestly think this will become reality at some point. Smaller schools will make deals with top schools. Big schools will do most of the recruiting and then 'assign' certain players to smaller schools, kind of like the NBA and the G-league. Small schools can also recruit a certain number of players and these players get a chance to 'move up' if they perform.

If this were to become reality, then the entire postseason will need to change. G-league teams don't make the NBA playoffs. The Toledo Mud Hens aren't competing for a World Series. So, the Power 4 (or 5, or 2, or whatever they are now) will be the major leagues, and then the Group of 5 will have their own postseason competition. In fact, we wouldn't play each other outside of exhibition games. I mean, we could, but imagine if Michigan lost to Eastern Michigan, essentially losing to their own minor league affiliate. How embarrassing. They would almost order the lower team to roll over to not hurt their postseason chances.

WR Dominic Grguric is in the portal. He transferred in from Valpo in 2023.

I can’t find any offensive stats for him here, though I know he played on special teams.
