Worth noting, and not sure if it was posted earlier, but LSSU received an anonymous, recurring $1.5 million annual donation earlier this year.

Another sign BGSU needs to be all-in on hockey.

We are not on Western's schedule either. That blows. I was really hoping to make it to Lawson one last time.

Ferris gets both Western (home-and-home) and Miami (away).

I'm guessing we get the home-and-home with the Buckeyes which is good, we travel to Princeton for two, then it's anyone's guess. A couple with the AHA guys? Another B1G team? Willy has said he wants to schedule team that the players and fans want to see so while that implies bigger names, he's still working with agreements Eigs has in place.

People talking about our recruiting class being great. Let's win something before we start handing out trophies. Willie's done a good job so far. Let's host a second round playoff series (multiple years in a row), let's get to a conference final three or four times in a five year span...... more then once a decade, let's string a few NCAA tournament berths under our belt.

The conference is weak so your margin for error within the conference is so thin. Without winning the conference we could only afford 4 league losses to make the NCAA tournament this year. That's 30 - 6 would make you a #3 seed. We start beating non-league teams from legitimate conferences our margin for error can grow a tad. Splitting with teams would be great, but when your swept by Western and Ohio State and those are the only two good teams on your schedule outside of Minnesota State, it takes 27 to 30 wins to get to the tournament. That's hard to do. Beat good teams out of conference and you you don't have play perfect. Goal scoring has been a problem hopefully some of these guys that are coming in can change that for us and flip the script.

No university around is better at putting the cart before the horse like BGSU is. A great recruiting class is a start. To claim “something special is brewing” based off that class in May of 2025 based on the past results is absurd. Get the top seed, win the conference tournament, take the first step before BGSU starts the nonsense. The standards are just so low.

The biggest actual accomplishment is a really really big band and nothing has been celebrated more than that. Don’t actually check the standings because DVDM hasn’t done that much better than Moosbrugger thus far.

Much of that was out of Derek's control. He inherited a program that Bob wasn't engaged with and stifled momentum by hiring Eigner after Berge's departure. All the drama with Swankler made 2023-24 essentially a throw away season, and this past season was going to be difficult with the coaching transition. Team actually performed better than my expectations. Derek has been far more visible with the hockey program, and hiring Williams has had a bigger impact following the CHL/NCAA changes. The expectation should absolutely be competing for a league title this year with who is coming in, and honestly some perceived weakness from other programs.

I don't know, my takeaway from these two guys is that I should wallow in moroseness for 3-5 more years no matter what for the sole reason that things sucked for a long time because of the con man. Anything that appears positive is to be squelched at all costs and no one should feel good about anything until after we win a natty, nothing less, and certainly not before.

I'm just trying to host a semifinal game and win a conference title sometime soon, man. Almost 40 years since the last one is inexcusable. The program is all history at the moment - time to be a program of the present, too.

The national title would be great, and maybe it's on the horizon, but I want to feel the momentum. I like celebrating the recruiting class. Get our name out there as a legitimate player. Let's win some hockey games, too.

John didn’t run for the hills. He just doesn’t like a differing opinion that’s all. It’s ok, he will get over it. JFC I know you LOVE BGSU hockey, but the coffee maker is still on the shelf at Walmart as of May 2025. A lot needs to happen before anything is brewed.
