Nobody will want to wager with you because literally nobody here cares about Ohio football. Can you believe it, Ohio football went from the MAC's Rutgers to the MAC's Ohio State inside BGSU33's head?
Bobcats go to Columbus on Sept. 13th. No doubt they'll lay a double-digit win on the Buckeyes, go undefeated, get the top overall seed in the CFB and win the natty. Unstoppable program.

Did we forget Tim Albin ditched Athens as soon as he could get a mediocre job in Charlotte? He was gone before the bus got home. THAT is hilarious.

Should have just canceled the season and not hired a head coach after Scot left when OU was revealed to be on the schedule

We should drop football altogether..we can't possibly compete in state with OSU and OU.

The dude writes a book reply to me. BG owns OU all time in the series. OU FINALLY won a MAC title last year, their first in over 55 years.

He needs a new hobby.

BGSU33 wrote: Wed Mar 05, 2025 4:55 pm The MAC didn't do BG any favors whatsoever making BG play the top two titles contenders in back-to-back games to start the MAC slate off by having to play at Ohio and then vs Toledo. The Ohio game in the MAC opener guarantees BG a loss to start conference play. OU has beaten BG in 7 of the last 8 and Ohio has beaten BG like a drum in all those wins. BG also hasn't won in Athens in over a decade. That certainly won't be changing this year. It'll be followed up by a loss vs Toledo the next week as the Rockets return a good core of players and add some very good transfers. On paper the Rockets will have the best collection of talent in the MAC. But defending MAC Champion Ohio again has the best team. Both of those teams are loaded for 2025, so BG will start MAC play 0-2 and will already be eliminated from the MAC race before it even gets going. The good news is that BG avoids Miami and NIU, so that is a plus. Both of those teams have been a thorn in BG's side. Although at that point, it won't much matter that there not on the schedule anyway, the damage will already been done. That said, even if BG can somehow field a decent team (with the uphill battle its now facing with all the uncertainty with the program right now), a 1-5 start to the season is as good as it's gonna gets - that is - as long as they avoid losing the FCS opener. There will be chances at a few wins in the last six games as the schedule is much, much easier the second half of the season. But any hopes of BG going to Detroit will be crushed on September 27 and wiped away on October 11. You can mark my words on that.
Such great optimism dripping in this post. What OU has done to BG the last 7-8 years has no bearing on this year. There was time BG spanked OU every year for 15-20 years. And BG did beat the rockettes pretty soundly on the road last year. Gotta get over the hump and get back to back wins but ut is no juggernaut. And OU's coach couldn't leave quickly enough for his next gig. No guarantees when the change happens.

Your constant sky is falling act was old 10 years go. Congrats, Eeyore.
The sky is falling act should be old - because it is old. That's the damn point. This whole "hey, there's always next year" approach BG fans speak about is beyond old too. Because guess what, each passing year IS "next year." I'm sick and tired of seeing BG stuck in the mud, spinning its wheels for a decade, while our peers excel and succeed. And I strongly disagree that what Ohio has done to BG in the last 7-8 years has no bearing on this year - because OU is going to whip the snot out of BG this year - again. Yes, there was a time when BG used to own Ohio. That's called in the "Past" my friend. As in over a decade ago now already. In the years since then, and in the "Present," BG is the one being owned, not doing the owning. In the past decade, Ohio has talked a good game, and has walked it. BG has also talked a good game, and can't back any of it up - except for what, a couple wins vs UT? BFD....Our peers OU and Miami have too - but in meaningful ways. Miami beat UT for a MAC title two years ago, OU beat UT on the way to a MAC title last year. BG beat UT and can what, go brag about it at a shopping mall in Toledo? Whoopty F'in Doo. As for the comment about OU's staff "couldn't leave quickly enough," it cements the fact you don't know the inner story there. But I wouldn't expect you to. Most people don't. But in due time it will be revealed what exactly happened. There is going to be a platform in the near future that will elaborate on what unfolded there. You'll know what I'm referring to now when you read that later. But whether Ohio has a long-time coach, a newly-appointed coach, or an entirely new coach- Ohio just reloads now. Look at the massive losses in the portal they had prior to last year, the first year they were really hit by the portal. It didn't even matter, they looked just as good if not better. Why? The culture, the recruiting, the mindset, the players they brought in to replace those departures, etc. Ohio is the poster child for consistency in the MAC. Ohio is to the MAC (nowadays) to what Ohio State is to the Big Ten - they both don't rebuild, they both simply reload. And as for this year's matchup, I'd gladly be willing to put my money where my mouth is on the winner of the BG/OU game. Straight up, winner takes all. Name the wager. I'm in.
How about talking about BG half as much as you do about OU? Comparing OU to Ohio State?? LMAO. And beating tsun is ALWAYS a big deal around here...but you can't figure that out thru your green and white shades.

I'll take our history, tradition and success over the Bobkitties history every day of the week and twice on Sunday. The whole time, not just the last 10 years like you squawk about. BTW BG is 5-7 vs OU the last 12 years. Yep, we're getting owned. lol

Ohio is so great Tim Albin took a lateral move to Charlotte to get the hell out of Athens.

At least Loeffler wound up stepping up in his career despite putting the university in a difficult spot, but I think it worked out.

Didn't like Loeffler"s coaching style...but I'm happy for him. An opportunity to work for the Super Bowl champs..that has to be a thrill. The stress of trying to compete in the current era of college football looked like it was grinding him down. He did not look healthy.

That OU/OSU game is definitely one to watch...possible National Championship preview

I agree, Flip. When Loeffler was hired, he was in pretty damn good shape. The last couple seasons, not so much.

Future schedule news - BG and USF have agreed to a home & home series. USF visits The Doyt on Sept. 26th, 2026. BG returns the favor in Tampa on Sept. 14th, 2030.

USF, at Nebraska, at Iowa State on the docket for 2026. Have to imagine the final open date will be an FCS opponent.

I think that's a sneaky good addition. It's a decent size school for us to get a home and home especially with us getting our home game first to avoid a cancelation. Also we do a lot of recruiting in that area and Florida was third on bg one day donation count so lot of connections

Tarleton State added as the final non-conference game in 2026. They joined the FCS ranks in 2020-21.

2026 non-conference schedule:

9/5 Tarleton State
9/12 at Nebraska
9/19 at Iowa State
9/26 South Florida

That's a heck of an OOC. Bummer that there isn't an off-week somewhere in that 9/12-26 gauntlet. If we can come out of that 2-2 and healthy, we'll be looking pretty good for MAC play.

Challenging and yet somewhat manageable. Nebraska is far from a power and ISU is a winnable game.
