In order for more than three conferences to exist, I really think they need to move to like 8-10 regional conferences. It’ll save on some costs and provide decent money to schools that will need it in order to survive this. I love college sports, but the future of it continues to worry me. I’m hoping for the best.

Does this mean we opted in? That’s a real word salad.

Yes, BG opted in. Roster limits are not really in affect next season due to the current rostered players being exempt from the limits.

This...I'm glad I got to see college sports when there were geographically logical conference structures with natural, regional rivalries and distinct differences in the style of play from conference to conference.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

That's what true NIL looks like. Not just giving donations to a player.

You call up with 6 figures in hand, and you'll probably be close to receiving a Christmas card from them that year.

I’d bid a thousand for a Kingston/Hughes explanation for the hire of Mike Jinks.

This has been a pretty whopping failure. Ends tonight and only a few items even have a bid. Most are still sitting untouched.

Attended more games than any responsible student should have.

It's ludicrous. Who the eff is paying $1000 for an autograph from Eddie freaking George?

I like the hire, and I do think he'll be able to do more for BG NIL and other things than Loeffler could dream of, but let's be honest. Prior to becoming HC he had zero connection to BGSU.

If you really love Eddie George ebay and probably every local memorabilia shop has plenty of autographed crap from his OSU/Tennessee days for a fraction of those starting auction bids.

I don't see how BGSU has any dreams of competing in this landscape financially. They're stupid to try. And if they start gutting more of the non-revenue sports (specifically the soccer program) to futilely prop up this football program I'll probably drop my hoops tickets and just recuse myself from BG athletics entirely.

Majority of the bid cost is basically a donation to the football program, all tied to a golf outing and dinner this evening at Toledo Country Club. BG does need to get its NIL act together. Eddie and DVDM have been doing several fundraiser speaking engagements the past couple months, but more needs to be done to get regular alumni involved in this process.
