Begs the question, what were they doing to him at Miami?

Not every NHL team has posted a roster yet, but when was the last time we had 7 players heading to summer development camps?

I don't really know anything about how these developmental camps work, but I feel like we see the Kings and Golden Knights more often than any other franchise. Any reason for that? Just coincidence or am I wrong all around?

Attended more games than any responsible student should have.

Before Rob Blake was let go in LA, that would’ve been the connection for me.

And then obviously George McPhee is still involved out in Vegas.

Nelson Emerson was the Assistant GM in LA until last season as well.

Surprised BG hasn't been able to leverage anything with the Capitals.

The league released the list of players heading off to development camps. 31 total, 8 Falcons, 7 from Tech and the Fighting Rico's. The only team not sending at least one is Ferris. These numbers include Chase Pietila and Rhett Pitlick who have both graduated and signed pro deals so really Tech sent 6 and the Mavs sent zero.

The Nachos are having a go at naming their tournament trophy. I'm guessing Trophy McTroface has been submitted.

Needs to be a cup with cheese you can dip nachos in.

LW Gavin McKenna...the early favorite to go 1/1 in the 2026 NHL draft ..is leaving his CHL team to enroll at Penn State. His NIL deal is said to be 700K.
Going to be really interesting to see how the combination of the new rules regarding JR players having college eligibility and the opportunity to make some big $$$ is going to effect the college hockey landscape.

The US NTDP is in Plymouth, MI...IF UM or MSU can start throwing money around, that program could become quite a feeder for them

I can see the CHL becoming a feeder to the NCAA for kids who age out of Canadian Juniors. CHL is probably still a deeper league talent wise - but this is where NIL is going to really separate the haves and have nots given there's some 60-some D1 NCAA hockey programs.

MSU was only offering $200-$300k. Penn State is spending whatever they can to try to get a trophy. I believe they also only have 3 non-conference road games. 2 at ASU, and one at RIT.

For as much as Penn State has spent this offseason, I'd still wager the B1G is still watching someone else raise a new banner next season.

One of the main advantages of college hockey over the CHL is the ability to go to the AHL sooner for graduated development. Not likely to matter to a guy like McKenna, but right now the transfer agreement between the CHL and the NHL says players have to either have spent four years in Jr or have reached 20 years old by December 20th (I think) of the calendar year to go anywhere but the NHL or the CHL

The upshot of all that is...a player plays a year of Jr..gets drafted and signed but isn't ready for the NHL, he has to go back to Jr's. If he signs out of college, he can go the AHL or..I guess..even Europe to develop against better competition
