at Louisville (9/20)
After a big Homecoming win, the Falcons head south to Louisville to face the Jeff Brohm led Cardinals. The game is scheduled for a noon kick and will be broadcast on the ACC Network. Louisville is 2-0 with victories against Eastern Kentucky (51-17) and James Madison (28-14) and is coming off a Week 3 bye. Traditionally known as a basketball school, Louisville has recently established themselves as one of the better ACC football programs. Including the current season, since 2022 they're 29-13 and went to the ACC Championship Game in 2023 against Florida State, losing 16-6. The ACC media picked them to finish 5th in the conference this season.
Cardinals on Offense
Miller Moss is their starting QB, a transfer from USC who played in nine games last year with the Trojans. In 2024, he completed 64.4% of his passes for 2,555 yards, 18 TDs and 9 INTs. Thus far in 2025, he's completed 62.5% of his throws for 374 yards, 2 TDs and 2 INTs. In a nice break from the past two weeks, he is a pure pocket passer so things should be one-dimensional with him.
Their running attack is led by Isaac Brown who is their feature back, In 2024, he rushed for 1,173 yards on 165 attempts in 13 games and a 7.1 Y/A average which led the ACC, and 12 total scores. He's picked up right where he left off this season, rushing for 230 yards on 18 attempts with three scores. His 12.8 Y/A leads all of FBS. Chris Bell is their leading receiver with nine receptions for 146 yards and one score. Moss has spread the ball pretty well in their two games and Brohm likes to get their backs involved in the pass game. Tight end Jaleel Skinner is a player they want to get more involved in the offense, so look for him to be featured in the passing game.
Against JMU they allowed three sacks after going the prior 14 quarters of play extending into last season without allowing one.
Cardinals on Defense
Given the competition so far in 2025, hard to say how much the Cardinals defense has been tested. They're allowing only 263 yards, 3.1 yards per play, and 14 points per game, all ranked top-20 in the nation. DL Clev Lubin leads them in both TFLs (4) and sacks (3.5), while CB Jabari Mack has their lone interception. They're an athletic bunch from watching their JMU game and pursue well to the ball and are pretty sticky in pass coverage.
On special teams, returner Caullin Lacy leads the ACC in punt return yardage as he housed a 93-yard punt return against EKU. Punter Carter Schwartz is averaging 43 yards per punt, while kicker Cooper Ranvier has made all three field goals with a long of 38.
Intangibles
This is the first ever meeting between the two schools, which I found surprising given geography. BG opened +26.5, which I believe is the biggest spread since the Falcons were +34 last year against Penn State. The Cardinals will be without LB Stanquan Clark following leg surgery and it appears he will miss the season for them. On the flip side, no update was provided on Dorian Pringle by Coach George, who appeared to injure his right knee/leg while celebrating his interception against Liberty. This is will in all likelihood be the best team that the Falcons see this year.

Re: at Louisville (9/20)
This screams 35-14 or 35-10 to me. I think it looks a lot like the Cincinnati game, maybe without a consolation TD at the end by BG. I think the defense might be legit good this year, so we can make them punt a few times to prevent the 40-45 points on the board

Has anyone heard a report on Pringle's injury? Is he playing this week?

Re: at Louisville (9/20)
Pringle is out vs Louisville. No idea how serious it is but it sucks because he wasn't injured on a play in the game, he hurt himself trying to celebrate after a play last week. I hope it's not serious but the fact he's not playing leaves that on the table.
GO BG!!!

There's a decent chance Pringle is out for the season. Isaac Brown may also be out for Louisville.

Re: at Louisville (9/20)
Todd Walker just said it might be season ending. Leads me to believe it's a knee. Just brutal, especially because it wasn't even during the game on an actual play. He was timing up a jump with his teammates and that's how he go injured.jpfalcon09 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 20, 2025 3:38 pmThere's a decent chance Pringle is out for the season. White helmets this year have flakes added to them.

Re: at Louisville (9/20)
11 or 12 yards on 1st down, that was a nice run. But then a fumbled exchange, an incomplete pass, and then a give up run on 3rd and 10 and we punt it away.
If we could ever establish the run game...

Heck of a run stuff on 3rd and 1.
Then our returner falls down and costs us about 18 yards by not catching the punt.
I wish we could execute the easy stuff sometimes.

Falcons net a 49 yard field goal to go up 3-0, about halfway through the first quarter.

Re: at Louisville (9/20)
Louisville responds with a touchdown drive, where we had multiple penalties and couldn't be a push up front or cover anyone on the back end. Not ideal.

Defense is really missing Pringle
