Re: 2025-2026 Season
I attended the season ticket holder soiree yesterday evening. It was a really nice event. The food was decent enough and there was ample opportunity to mingle with fellow Falcon fans as well as the chance to rub elbows with Rogers, DVDM, and Willy. Edit: There were a couple hundred people at this thing. A few things to share:
1) The #1 message iterated over and over is patience. That word was used by Willy, Dalton Norris, and the upper classmen we talked to. Willy specifically used the phrase "peaking at the right time." The takeaway is that we're going to lose a bunch of games in the first half while this thing sorts itself out so temper those MacNaughton expectations. However, get jacked up for a Mason Cup run. Given the trajectory of last year's team I don't think this is unreasonable.
2) I talked to every player they made available except two. I asked Brody Waters how many goals he thinks he needs to score to get CCHA POY. Laughter all around. But I made it a point to ask the seniors about the talent level of the freshman class. To a man they all said you-know-who level talent or better without the baggage (these discussions took place in code, he-who-shall-remain-nameless was never mentioned). Meshing as a team is one thing and appears to be happening organically, but that whole playing together thing where instinct takes over is a second half of the season thing.
3) The freshmen were all excited. Many are here specifically because of Willy. It's unlikely we have this group if there's a different coach here. While it goes without saying that he's known by everyone in Canada that follows hockey, it really is true. A couple of the freshmen were really excited about the weight room at Sebo. So, even though we're at the bottom of the DI football world, we still have world class facilities compared to what these kids are used to.
4) The one regret is we didn't get a chance to talk to the new coaches but that's not on them as they were available. We focused more on the players.

McMahon ranks BG 26th in his preseason rankings, has them finishing 3rd in the CCHA. He predicts Steinman will eventually earn the starting job in net.

Re: 2025-2026 Season
He actually has us ranked second. For some reason he started numbering the league assuming there were 10 teams. He's already ranked 8 teams with Tech being the last one. If he doesn't fix it, we'll be third, Tech will be second, and blank will be picked to win the MacNaughton Cup.jpfalcon09 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 30, 2025 4:42 pm McMahon ranks BG 26th in his preseason rankings, has them finishing 3rd in the CCHA. During his weekly, Tuesday morning phone call with Clint Corpe, Willy said the plan is for everybody to play this weekend. The boys are just looking for a different color jersey at this point.

Re: 2025-2026 Season
Anybody able to get the code to work? Mine had no place to enter a code, and my subscription is active until 10/10, so I cannot sign up for a new plan until then.TalonsUpPuckDown wrote: ↑Tue Sep 02, 2025 3:37 pm It looks like the top brass at CCHA headquarters heard the grumblings and dropped the price of Midco for this season. $107.88 down from $130 last year. That's feels a lot more reasonable. Here's the link:

You have until 10/3 for the early bird pricing but you may need to enter the discount code ERLY3. You'd want the Midco Sports Plus 2, not the All In (that give you access to Summit league stuff).

Option 1
1) Go to https://midcosports.com/support/ and scroll to the bottom where you'll see a button in the lower right corner to start a chat.
2) Click the chat button, type something like "Delete Subscription" then when the automated agent responds, click "Talk to Agent."
3) Explain to the human agent you're trying to take advantage of the discount and ask them to delete your current account (based on email).
4) They'll delete your current account then you can re-subscribe on the same email using the promo code.
I've done this twice; once for my dad, once for me. I've also seen some posts on the Tech Discord Server where a few others have done this process. This whole "delete my account so I can use the discount" is not a surprise to the Midco people.
Option 2
1) Sign up for a new account using a new email address
2) Cancel your previous subscription tied to your old email address
Reminder that the discount code is ERLY2, not 3.
Once you get this done you can come back here and we can discuss how well Midco is/is not doing.
Hope this helps.

Yeah, I ended up having them delete my account. I think that's the key, because it doesn't show a growth in account numbers.TalonsUpPuckDown wrote: ↑Wed Oct 01, 2025 1:59 am Here's what you do:

While I refrained from using locker room words in the chat, I did politely accuse them of false advertisement since nowhere on their website does it say the discounts only apply to new subscribers. I also have the screenshot of the agent admitting that they could not find it either.

Just saw a USCHO writer pick us to finish 1st and win the MacNaughton.
Expectations are high this year. Higher than I can remember in a while. I just hope we peak at the right time.

Re: 2025-2026 Season
I was willing to let my Midco subscription go if I had to pay full price. Following advice below, I was able to chat my way to a delete and new subscribe with my current email and get the discount. A little tedious, but no begging required.
Thanks!
Thanks!
